Narcissa/Lucius

Word Count: 233

The room was dark except for a small sliver of moonlight leaking in through the window. The old manor creaked and moaned every time the wind blew, which only made the knot in Narcissa's stomach tighten. She was sitting straight up in bed, with the covers pulled up to her chin. Her husband lay soundlessly next to her, his body radiating warmth onto her leg. Narcissa envied her husband for being able to sleep at a time like this.

Shadows danced along the walls and the baby cradle next to their bed containing their son looked like a dark looming mass. Narcissa glanced down at her husband, his left arm left uncovered and dangling off the bed. The faint black scar the dark mark left was still visible underneath the moonlight.

She reached over his still body and traced the mark on his arm gently with her index finger. It still felt like the rest of his skin, despite being marked. The moment the tip of her finger trailed down to his wrist, Lucius' hand suddenly closed around hers. She jumped and gasped loudly, hoping she didn't wake the baby.

"Come here," he said, his voice thick.

He dragged her on top of him and brought his lips to hers and kissed her firmly. Narcissa's whole body felt warm and for the first time in awhile, it felt like she could breathe again.
