"Alright SIlent Magician, attack his lifepoints directly!" Yugi said.
As Silent Magician shot his sphere of teal magic at Yami, millions of thoughts passed through Yugi's mind. Thoughts of all the time he and Yami spent as one, all the time that he had Yami to give him courage. He remembered the day he completed the Melinium Puzzle and shadow began to attack, as if the Shadow Realm itself were trying to murder him. He his and let the older more couragous mind come forth and face this. He remembered facing Pegasus, and all the others who had Melinium Items. He remembered facing Seto Kiaba when his grandfather was beaten. He remembered everything and he began to cry.
After the attack that sealed his fate, not killing him literally but sending him away, Yugi was down on his knees and Yami came to assist and comfort him. He taught him that the gifts given to each other would not allow them to be apart fully, that part of each other was always there. After that we learned his(Yami's) name. He is Atem. After a brief sappy moment by Yugi's crew Atem left them all. This was a hard choice he realized, leaving his friends to rest his spirit, but it was what he had to do to end the Shadow Games return, and to protect them all. And as Joey has said: "Hate to break it to ya, but your not going anywhere, cause the gifts you gave us and the things you taught us will always be right here in our hearts." This was true. As Atem left, the Melinium Stone began to break apart and despose the Melinium Items into the center of the Earth. Each person evactuated as quickly as possible as the toumb began to colapse.
"So this is the end," Joey said, "feels weird."
"What did you geeks expect?" Seto Kiaba questioned
"I dunno," answered Joey, "fireworks, sappy music, something. It just doesn't feel right to leave it this way. Give us one of your speeches Yug."
"Well sometimes the end of one journey is the begining of another." Yugi said simply.
