Olivia saw the world in terms of black and white, in every sense of the term. It was part of the reason Alex loved confiding in her, knowing she would get an honest response. She would babble on for hours late at night, Olivia's head in her lap, Alex occasionally stroking her back until the both of them drifted off into sleep.

"I'm home," Alex called. Somewhat guiltily, Olivia jumped off the bed and went to meet the blonde. "Hey," said Alex. She dropped her briefcase flat by the door; Olivia nudged it back into standing position before following Alex back to the bedroom. "Work was awful. This new defense attorney, Travis, Trevor, something—he's such a sleaze."

Olivia tensed slightly at Alex's tone, silently following her around as she stripped off the accoutrement necessary for a day in court. Pantyhose were shed with a sigh of relief, blouse and skirt tossed over a chair, jeans and t-shirt pulled on. They went to the kitchen, where Alex started fixing dinner for the both of them.

Ever since the incident with the stove, Olivia had been a bit hesitant to enter the kitchen; but where Alex went, so went her nation. She stood at the border between kitchen and living room, fixed intently on Alex as she used the can opener. Nothing fancy tonight, then. That was fine with Olivia; she would consume just about anything Alex made, even picking somewhat disapprovingly over her leftovers, as if to say "You should eat more."

This was Olivia's favorite time of the day—the evenings when they would eat together, and Alex would curl up with her on the soft couch, doing work while Olivia watched the first sporting event she could find playing on TV. Sometimes Alex fell asleep in the living room, and Olivia would drag a blanket over the lanky frame the best she could before sneaking off to enjoy the bed by herself.

"I had to argue a motion in front of Petrovsky today. What's-his-name wants to suppress the gun and the bloody clothing because there was no good-faith basis for the search. I swear he came on to me right after he finished insulting the SVU. He gave me his business card." She said the last words like the other attorney had given her a sexually transmitted disease.

Olivia sniffed loudly at this. Alex laughed and set Olivia's bowl on the floor. "That's what I thought, too," she said, scratching the dog's ears.
