Axel was sprawled on the couch, his eyes closed and his chest rising and falling steadily in sleep. It was about one o'clock in the morning, and he had returned from a long mission with Saix only twenty minutes ago. The red-head had been too tiered to walk up the stairs to his room, and so he had crashed on the couch and fell asleep immediately.

The stairs creaked as someone descended them, and the door to the living room opened quietly. A younger girl came through the darkness, and she walked over to the couch, dressed in a tee-shirt and pajama bottoms. She leaned over the back of the couch and watched Axel sleep. Suddenly her long auburn hair fell across his face, and he woke up at its touch. His green eyes locked onto her own, and he smiled. His eyes closed again, but he said,

"Why are you still awake?"

"I was waiting for you. I heard Saix come up, but you never showed."

"Sorry." He opened his eyes and looked at her, making the best puppy-eyes he could. The girl laughed, and Axel found the sound of her voice waking him up. He sighed and rolled off the couch. He walked around it and took her hand. She smiled and led him up the stairs. They quietly slunk into his room, and then parted. The girl vanished into the darkness, and Axel took off his cloak and put it on his desk as best he could in the blackness.

He then made his way to his bed, and lifting the covers, crawled in. He felt his skin buzz with electricity as he felt her snuggle up to him. He wrapped his arms around her and kissed her forehead gently. She made a quiet sound, and Axel played with her hair.

"What was that?" he asked teasingly.

"I love you." She purred, looking up at him with sparkling green eyes, which Axel found he could see quite clearly. He smiled and kissed her nose, and she squeaked in surprise.

"Don't do that!" She giggled.

"Aww why not?"

"'Cause it tickles!"

"Is this better?" Axel chuckled, then kissed her lips. He felt her smile as he forced his tongue past the barrier of her lips into her mouth.

She kissed him back with force, passion filling her senses until she found herself lying on top of him, and then they stopped, each gasping for breath.

"Krayix, when are you going to marry me?" Axel whispered, holding her tightly.

"Just buy me the ring already!" She laughed.
