Chapter one
The Letter
A/N: I do not own Harry Potter or anything related to it. The only thing that doesn't belong to JK in this story is Tricia or any other characters you don't reconize from the Harry Potter series.
A girl who had turned eleven yesterday sat at the table eating a bowl of cereal. She was tall for her age, though she had been as far back as she could recall. She had brown hair that fell to the middle of her back and bright brown eyes.
Her parents were still asleep half an hour later when the mail arrived. When she picked it up she realised an odd looking envelope. It seemed thick as if it held more than one item. She went to the family room and sat the other mail on a small table in the frount of the couch.
Looking at the envelope she saw her name and her exact address.

Fourth room upstairs
10. Westlane

' What the-' she thought as she turned the envelope over and saw a seal with a lion, badger, a raven, and a serpant with an H in the center. Above it read:
Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry
With shaking hands Tricia opened the envelope and emptied all of the contents. Inside it was a letter, a list, and what looked like a train ticket.
She picked up the letter and read it.

Headmaster: Albus Dumbledor
(Order of Merlin, First Class, Grand Sorc., Chf. Warlock, Supreme Mugwump, International Confed. of Wizards)
Dear Miss. Zion,
We are pleased to inform you have been accepted at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Please find enclosed a list of all necessary books and equipment.
Term begins on September 1. We await your owl by no later than July 31.

Tricia read the letter a few times before picking up the school supplies list.
Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry
Uniform
First year students well require:
1. Three sets of plain work robes (black)
2. One plain pointed hat (black) for day wear
3. One pair of protective gloves (dragon hide or similar)
4. One winter cloak (black, silver fastenings)
Please note all pupils clothes should carry name tags.
Course Books
All students should have a copy of each of the following:
The Standard Book of Spells (Grade 1) by Miranda Goshawk
A History of Magic by Bathilda Bagshot
Magical Theory by Adalbert Waffling
A Beginner's Guide to Transfiguration by Emeric Switch
One Thousand Magical Herbs and Fungi by Phyllida Spore
Magical Drafts and Potions by Arsenius Jigger
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them by Newt Scamander
The Dark Forces: A Guide to Self- Protection by Quentin Trimble
Other Equipment
1 wand
1 cauldron (pewter, standard size 2)
1 set of glass or crystal phials
1 telescope
1 set of brass scales
Students may also bring an owl OR a cat OR a toad.
PARENTS ARE REMINDED THAT FIRST YEARS ARE NOT ALLOWED THEIR OWN BROOMSTICKS.
Tricia just stared at the list. ' My parents are going to freak when I tell them.' As she thought that she heard movement upstairs indicating that her parents were awake.
A/N: I know I pretty much copied the letter and everything but I thought all the letters would be the same. Well this is my second fanfic, I removed my first so I could do some work on it to make it better. Well hope you like this on, and yes the characters form Harry Potter will come in shortly for those who were wondering. This one may not be updated often, just depends as I'm about to start school here shortly. I'll still try to update as often as I can. Please R&R!
