Chained To You by Flywithme
"Do you know how much I hate having to hide?" breathed Sirius softly. His long, dark hair drifted across the wild grasses of the forbidden forest.
"Yes," said James thoughtfully. He appreciated his friend's pride. "I do, Padfoot."
"So."
"That is the way it is," shrugged James, allowing Sirius a little room to breathe. "And the way it must always be."
-----------------------------------------------------------
How can you say that?" demanded Sirius incredulously, gripping James's toned shoulders and trying to shake sense into him. "Don't you understand how that makes me feel?"
"Spare me the anguish," snarled James.
"What is wrong with you? Give me an answer!"
"I'm not one of your servants that you can just order around. If I don't want to explain something to you then I won't." James stomped away behind the greenhouses, leaving Sirius to kick the ground to bits.

"Why won't you leave that strumpet?" asked Sirius one day, as he and his lover lay side by side on the Quidditch pitch, beneath the stars.
"You are so jealous!" sneered James. Sirius looked like James had slapped him hard around the face.
"So I am supposed to just accept your relationship with her and carry on like this?"
"If you like," said the black-haired seeker dismissively. "You are not splitting us up!"
"We must split up, then, Prongs," said Sirius coldly.
"As you wish."
---------------------------------------------------------
"When will you stop following me?" cried Sirius. "Go follow your girlfriend!"
"I don't want her," said James plaintively, refusing to quit. "Why are you ignoring me?"
"I have nothing more to say to you."
"Do you have anything to show me?"
--------------------------------------------------------
"How did I end up in your bed?"
"I pulled you here. You willingly complied."
Sirius glared at James. "You stunned me."
"That's what I meant," said James. He caught the look. "I didn't do anything to you."
"You cannot have it all, Prongs."
"Oh, yes. I can."
--------------------------------------------------------
"Why is Shithead crying?" enquired Sirius presently, folding up the daily prophet.
James glanced at Lily across the busy breakfast tables.
"I broke up with her," he said simply.
"Why did you do that?"
"I decided you were wrong."
"I was?"
James kissed Sirius hard, on the mouth, in front of everyone. Dumbledore, Snape and Moony.
"I most definitely can have it all."
The end
