Karasuno had a music room. It was away in the back of the school, out of sight and out of mind. The school hadn't had any musical talents for some time and so the room remained tucked away, waiting for someone to discover it.

As it happened, Hinata and Kageyama were the ones that found the room. The two were practicing behind the school one day, and Hinata had somehow managed to hit the ball out of bounds and too far past Kageyama's reach. It rolled into a dark room. Hinata got scared and had to ask the setter to come with him. ("Who knows what's in that room? What if..it's a ghoul of some sort?!")

Kageyama stormed into the room, feeling only half as brave as he looked, and ran his hand along the wall for a light switch. It took a while to find one. The entire room lit up, revealing instruments scattered across the floor. In the center of it all, was a grand piano.

"Who leaves instruments out like this?" Hinata picked up a drum stick and lightly tapped a standing cymbal. The ring made him drop the stick and back away in surprise. Kageyama had to agree with Hinata. He had never touched an instrument before, but something told him you didn't just leave them out like this.

"Aren't you looking for the volleyball?" he asked Hinata. The latter looked up from a drumset with a "oh!". Kageyama shook his head in disapproval. Hinata was hopeless.

The setter wandered to the grand piano. It was such and enormous thing, he thought, It probably sounded extremely loud. What was something so nice doing in a room at the back of the school? He sat down at the bench and tried a key.

Hinata looked up, startled again. He still hadn't found the ball. "You know how to play the piano, Bakayama?"

"No." Kageyama had never learned, nor did he want to. He pressed another key. "Let me try." Hinata sat himself down on the bench. He tapped a key, producing a light, staccato sound. And then he tried another key. Hinata alternated between the two, playing a two-note tune.

"Do you know how to play?" Kageyama watched his spiker switch to another two-note song.

"No, not really. But these sound nice together, don't they?" Hinata looked up at Kageyama with a smile.

He just nodded and turned his attention back to the piano. If Hinata could make music, then so could he. Kageyama tried a note, and then another. That sounded okay. He repeated them over and over, copying his friend. The tune wasn't so bad.

"You got it!" Hinata looked over to Kageyama's hands, and then up to his friend. The setter looked at him just in time to see another smile. It made him feel warm and funny inside.

"Y-yeah.."
