God, I love and hate FF formatting. But eh, it looks alright like this, I suppose.
I got this whole falling idea from Wild Child RUN, who has been kind enough to let me snag that idea for this oneshot. It's in her story 'angel', which is great, you guys should go check it out. Thanks, Jo, I hope I did your idea some justice.
Disclaimer: I do not own Sisters Grimm.
A brief smile touches his face.
In his chest, his heartbeat thrums, strong and powerful, like a war drum, thumping loudly in his ears as his ribs ache.
(and around him, the wind roars).
Because he is falling, oh yes he is falling, and a banshee howls in his ears as he falls,
in love, for her, out of the sky to whatever earthly realm she lives on.
her eyes, blue-black in the starlight, shine as though the universe were compressed within them
Lingering in the air is the iron smell of blood, and lingering from his side, also, is the iron smell of blood, strong and heady and making his head spin
and her smell is pleasantly sharp, like spearmint, and sweat
He hears the vague sounds of battle below, and a scream
her gasp is... delicious
Coated by dust and the residue of gunfire, his tongue feels too big and bloated in his mouth
and her taste is like salt but lightning-charged
A flare of pain burns through him
his fingers graze her cheek as she tells him goodbye
Dropping out of the sky, he falls, most definitely, he is falling,
in love, for her, out of the sky to whatever earthly realm she lives on.
He plummets like a rock and with frozen fingers the wind tears at him
(with mountainous fingers the earth stretches up to meet him)
like blades, like serrated knives
(rising)
ripping him apart
(looming closer)
it burns
(so close)
why
(oh God)
shouldn't it cool, shouldn't it chil—
His ribs shatter on impact.
He is not falling, but fallen.
He has fallen out of the sky to whatever earthly realm she lives on.
...And his heartbeat is but a dying bird's wing flutter now.
Trust Puck's last thoughts to be about sex. Although he is a teenage fairy, so I guess that's to be expected. Thanks for reading, guys.
