Me Hold Baby Hundy?
"Mama." Karlie told Jackie in the middle of the night as she gently shook her awake.
Jackie opened her eyes.
"Hi sweetheart, what's wrong?" Jackie asked.
"Hi mama." Was Karlie's reply.
"Hi, why aren't you asleep?" Jackie asked her.
"Mama, me hold baby Hundy?" The child asked sounding hopeful.
"Baby Hundley is sleeping sweetheart, you can hold her tomorrow."
"No me want to hold her now." Karlie said sadly.
"Well kiddo we can't wake her, she'll be mad." Jackie tried to reason with her.
"No." Karlie argued.
"Yes she will, just like you get mad when someone wakes you up." (Karlie was a total sweetheart but when you woke her up she turned into a real bear)
"No." Karlie said.
"Let's go tuck you back into bed sweetie pie."
"No, me hold baby Hundy." Karlie wailed.
"Not tonight." Jackie said holding firm.
"What's going on?" Nick asked as he woke up.
"Hi dada me want to hold baby Hundy." She told him.
"She's sleeping kiddo." He told her.
"No." Karlie argued.
"How about I read you a story instead?" He asked.
"Ok, you do, no mama, me mad at mama."
"Oh don't be mad at mommy, she loves you so much." Nick told her.
"No, her no let me hold baby Hundy." She told him.
"Karlie Allison I love you more than anything in this world." Jackie told her.
Karlie gave her a dirty look, she certainly wasn't convinced.
Nick tried not to laugh as he picked Karlie up so he could take her back to her own room and read her a story.
As soon as they were out of the room Jackie pulled the covers over her head. I really do love her more than anything in this world, even when she is a stinker. Jackie thought to herself before she drifted back to sleep.
