This is my first story

Quote of the chapter (I like quotes) : You can't start the next chapter if you keeping re-reading the last one

Veronica Roth owns everything :)

A small blonde girl with beautiful bluish-grey eyes laid on her stomach on her bed, trying to fall asleep with no luck at all. She rolled over, trying to find a comfortable position, only to have the result of shooting pain traveling up her back. She sits up, knowing that it's impossible to go to sleep while being in this much pain. Pain that was only created by the only person that she could call family. No, she thought, he will never be family. She walks to a small closet and grabs a grey dress before to her bed room door. Silently, just like a cat she walks to the only bathroom in the entire house. Having more than one bathroom is considered extravagant and selfish, just like everything else that is considered fun. THe bathroom, all grey just like everything else in abnegation was small, about the size of a closet, maybe a little bigger. The sink sat on a cabinet filled with towels and other toiletries. The mirror above the sink, blocked by a wooden shield with a lock hanging down the side. Next to the sink was the toilet. In between the toilet and grey wall was a small shower. A typical abnegation bathroom. In one swift motion she takes off her shirt, revealing hundreds of scars and bruises. The scars, red with dried blood covering the swollen cuts was the result of her father's belt. The bruises, black and blue, was the result from her father slamming the girl into the wall, furniture, and even the fireplace in the family room.

The girl grabbed a grey towel from the cabinet under the sink and wetted it. She then rubbed the towel over her back, giving her even more pain then when she received the injures. The dried blood didn't come off easy but the small girl tried her best. She pulled the grey dress over her head when she got half of her back clean, giving up on the area that was hard to reach. The dress, baggy and plain, went all the way down to the ten year olds ankles. She grabbed two hair ties out of the cabinet and tied her hair in two braids. She walked back to her room, pulled her normal grey plain shoes out from under her bed and put them on, grabbed her book bag, and walked out the back door from the kitchen.

The cool August air brushed past her face and through her pale blond hair. The bright blue sky almost blinded her before she notice a tall boy with dark brown hair and deep dark blue eyes like the ocean walking behind her. Tobias Eaton, the abnegation leader's son. She barely knew the boy even though they're the same age. He was a bit of loner but then again so was she. They had been neighbors their entire life, but never spoke.

"Beatrice!" Tobias ran up to the young girl.

"Hello Tobias," Beatrice said, still walking.

"Do you mind if I walk with you?"

"No. not at all,"

"So how has your day been?"

"Good, yours?"

"Good. So my father told me that we're having dinner at your house tonight," Marcs Eaton and Andrew Prior, the young girl's father, are best friends and co-workers.

Marcus always talked about what a good man Andrew was, which was one of the only reasons that Andrew liked Marcus, that and he got Andrew in job in the government, at least that was what Beatrice always wondered if Marcus knew how much of a monster Andrew really is what would he think of his "friend".

"Yeah, my father said that they needed to talk about work," The rest of the walk was silent. They continued walking down the sidewalk that traveled the Amity farms. Beatrice always loved traveling this way instead of by bus that you had to get to by walking through the faction-less section. When walking through the aisles of crops and apple trees she can think. Think in silence that she valued and desperately craved.

The walk didn't take long before they reach Chicago Elementary School. They walked through the front doors, and through the crowed hallways. If there was a competition on which faction was the loudest Dauntless would win hands down, with their members running and shouting through the halls Candor and Amity would be neck and neck for second place, with both faction members laughing and talking, not paying attention to their surroundings. Abnegation and Erudite both tied for last with Erudite students blocking out the world by reading their newest books while Abnegation students just keeping to their stuff.

"Bye"

"Bye"

Beatrice and Tobias said before walking into their separate classroom.

"Okay class, for tonight's homework read pages 316 in your history book. You may go now," A tall woman that looked a little over the age of thirty with dark auburn hair and green eyes said.

Beatrice packed her book bag and walked outside to the sidewalk to the sidewalk that lead through the Amity farms. What did Marcus and her father need to talk about? Beatrice knew that erudite had to part of it but what else. It didn't take long before she walked up her driveway and through the front door.

"Beatrice!" A man's voice boomed through the small house.

"Yes sir," Beatrice said. A tall man entered the room. Andrew Prior.

"I need you to make dinner tonight, if you mess this up I will kill you," Andrew said.

"Yes sir," Beatrice said. Andrew left the room, not forgetting to slam the door behind him.

"Beatrice!" Andrew yelled. They're here, Beatrice thought. The small blond walked to the family room. Standing in front of the front door was the Eaton family. Wow, Beatrice thought, Tobias looks just like his father.

"Hello Beatrice," Marcus said, "How are you doing?" Beatrice snapped out of her thoughts.

"Hello Mr. Eaton, Tobias," Beatrice said, "I'm doing quite well, thank you. How has your day been?"

"Very well, thank you," Marcus said.

"Beatrice, do you mind bringing out the food while Mr. Eaton and I talk about work," Andrew said.

"Yes father," Beatrice said.

"Tobias, why don't you help Beatrice," Marcus said.

"Yes sir," Tobias said. Beatrice and Tobias walked to the kitchen, grabbed the three plates that was either covered in chicken, peas, or mashed potatoes, set them down in the middle of the small oak table the sat in the middle of the small dining room, and sat down in an empty chair. Both Marcus and Andrew sat at the heads of the table while Tobias and Beatrice sat across from each other, in between their fathers.

"So Marcus, what are we going to do about those Erudite articles?" Andrew asked. Beatrice heard of the articles around school, but never read one. All she knew was that Erudite was spreading viscous rumors about the Abnegation leaders, including Marcs and Andrew. If only erudite knew who Andrew really was, not the mask that he put on for show, they wouldn't be spreading rumors but facts.

"Nothing Andrew, it's not like any one believes them," Marcus said.

"If that's what you wish," Dinner went by fast, Tobias and Beatrice both kept their heads down, eating while Marcus and Andrew talked about work.

"Beatrice, why don't you and Tobias talk in your room while Marcus and I finish talking about business?" Andrew said.

"Yes sir," Beatrice said. The blond girl walked to her room with Tobias following.

"Do you mind if I use your bathroom?" Tobias asked, right after entering Beatrice's room.

"No, not at all. The bathroom is right across the hall," Beatrice said. The ten year old girl sat on her bed, and began picking at her finger nails, waiting for Tobias to finish.

"Um Beatrice, what's this," Tobias asked, standing in the doorway, holding the same grey rag that is now covered in blood that Beatrice used that morning.

"No-nothing," Beatrice said, wide-eyed.

"This isn't nothing. Be-Beatrice why does this rag covered in blood?" Tobias asked. Beatrice looked down.

"Lift up your shirt," Tobias said.

"What?" Beatrice said.

"Left up your shirt," Beatrice finally did what she was told after a few minutes of standing there motionless.

"Who did this to you?" Tobias asked, staring at her back. His face red with, anger? Beatrice didn't respond.

"It was you father, wasn't it," Tobias pulled Beatrice into a hug.

"I-I can't believe that I'm not the only one," Beatrice's head shot up.

"Your father does it to you to?" Beatrice said. Tobias nodded. They laid down in Beatrice's bed for hours, not talking but thinking.

"Let's make a pact," Tobias said, breaking the silence, "For now on we watch out for each other. We can be each other's family," Beatrice smiled.

"Deal,"

"Deal,"

Wow, I'm so scared right now while I was writing this chapter my hand wouldn't stop shaking. Anyway I'm going to try to upload every Friday and Wednesday :) Maybe even more frequent.
