This is somewhat of a one-shot between Ayanami and Teito. I might by incest/yaoi if you squint and turn slightly to the left.

The Emerald Ring

I have become a cold and calculating leader to the Kingdom of Raggs, and also very short tempered. I can't stand that the ignorance of these people, thinking that they can get me to be more kind or let them go if they beg and plead everyday like it would make a difference. Well it wouldn't. I show so very little mercy to anyone, except to my only family, but I think he fears me as well. There is only one person who has any kind of power over me, I would do anything to make him happy if he would only ask. For so long, before I had rescued him from his previous life as a sklave, he has been on his own never asking for help but always insisted on helping other. Wait someone comes.

"Your highness", the small boy approaches my throne and gets down on his right knee, reaches for my hand and kisses it.

"Stop it!" I say louder then intended, "why do you do this to me, Teito?" My voice is cold and uncaring. But I do care…so very much.

The boy freezes and looks up to me with fear in his eyes. "W-w-what do you mean your highness? I only look to please you."

Just like the others with, their false love, but he is not the others, he is my beloved mother's son. She was the Queen of Raggs and he the son of an unlawful love, but that didn't matter I loved like he was my only care, the only person who was never afraid of me, but I guess I'm wrong. NO. I can't be wrong, was it he who had changed or was it me?

"Do you fear me?" I say. His mouth opens than closes, no words ever came out. He looks franticly from wall to wall hoping to find the answer anywhere but in my face. I remove my emerald ring from my hand, reach for his and say, " I don't want you to ever fear me." There was s much authority in my voice that he shook in fear.

I reach for his hand and I can feel him stiffen as I take it gently in mine, I place the ring of the ruler onto his finger and then kissed it.

With the most tender voice I could muster, "Teito, you should never have to fear me…I love you too much", all the while rubbing my face in his now relaxed hand while a single tear sipped down my face.

I lifted my face to look into his and saw the most loving smile that I haven't seen in so long.

" I love you too Ayanami, for so long I had thought you had changed for the worst but of course I was wrong." I am finally able to hold him the way I have been dreaming of ever sense I got him back.

Sooo how was it? Please review and tell me what you think this is only the second one but I'm working on it.

A/N I kinda don't like this ending, I can fix it of you give me suggestions.
