Chapter 1
Close Friends
The front door opened and an infuriated Natalya stomped into the house, throwing her car keys on the table. This caused the cats to be woken up from their nap, they looked up with their big eyes widened in surprise Tyson followed her, shutting the door behind him with a loud thud.
'Oh come on, Nat!' he said. 'I was only joking!'
'Yeah well Tyson, I don't think saying 'I'd rather stick my eyes out with red hot needles than going to that movie with you' isn't really funny!' the Canadian Diva snarled angrily.
'Hey, you know what your problem is?' Tyson snarled back. 'No matter I say, it always sets you off! God, you can be such a psycho sometimes, you know that?!'
'Me, a psycho?!' Natalya yelled, turning around to face her husband. Her brown eyes were burning with anger at this point and her voice became shrill. 'This is one of the rare times we actually get a day off from our careers! I wanted to take advantage of this time to go out and spend some time with you, Tyson! And what do you do? You ruin it! You always have to ruin everything!'
'You knew I never wanted to watch that movie in the first place, Nattie!'
'We always go see a movie you want to see, and when I pick a movie for once, you start bitching and moaning like there's no tomorrow! You know what, Tyson? You sleep on the couch tonight! Don't you dare to sleep next to me tonight!'
Natalya walked up the stairs, ignoring Tyson who was telling her to get back downstairs. She didn't want to listen to another single word from him tonight, she was so sick of him. Why? Why did he had to do this to her? When they were sitting in the car on their way to the cinema, Natalya could already picture it; it would be a romantic night, they would forget about all the stress their careers in the WWE brought along and watch a movie together in the dark cinema. The atmosphere between her and her husband was already tensed before they left to go to the cinema, but Natalya hoped it would get better once they would get there. But then, halfway the car ride, Tyson couldn't help but ruin the whole night by mumbling that harmful 'joke'. In a fit of rage, Natalya had immediately turned the car around, making the tires screech. She didn't speak a word to him until they got home.
The Canadian Diva walked over the corridor, heading towards their bedroom. Once she was inside, she slammed the door shut as hard as she could. Immediately after that, she locked it; having Tyson sleeping next to her in bed tonight was the last thing she wanted right now.
Sitting on the edge of her bed, she let out a long, frustrated sigh. All alone in the bedroom, she could feel the tears well up in her eyes. Hunching forward, she started to sob, slowly shaking her head in disbelief. Oh God... this night was completely ruined. Everything seemed to go so well after that one incident with Nikki Bella. Natalya was heartbroken when she found out Tyson had been sexting with the plastic twin, he couldn't have done anything more harmful to her. And yet, she had still found the will to go on with him, because damn it, she loved him! That morning, when the 'happy' couple were reunited in their hotel bedroom, they had the most lengthy talk they had in their entire marriage. Natalya was convinced that Tyson felt remorse for his actions, because for the first time in their strained marriage, she had seen tears rolling down his face. No, she loved him so much... she couldn't possibly leave him. She loved Tyson, she loved him with all her heart, they had been dating since they were teenagers, for God's sake!
And thus, the Canadian Diva and her husband rekindled their relationship. Tyson seemed to actually put more effort in their relationship after what happened, he had been a lot kinder and supportive to her. Perhaps this was the wake-up call he needed, to start taking better care of his wife. But his good behavior came abruptly to an end that night, where he couldn't help but upset her once more.
Natalya felt the strung urge to go see a friend, she really needed some comfort right now. Somebody who would understand her... But of course!
Cesaro!
Lately, the Canadian Diva couldn't help but blush whenever the Swiss jumped into her mind. Their friendship had been forever changed after that one night in his hotel room, although in a rather positive way. Cesaro had given her that one thing she needed so much on that moment; love. Sometimes, when Natalya closed her eyes when she went to sleep, she could feel those sensual touches from the Swiss's callused yet gentle hands on her body again. On rare moments, Natalya wanted to go back to that hotel room and do it all over again with Cesaro, before quickly snapping out of it and mentally shouting at herself that she was married. This had to remain a secret between her and Cesaro, it should never, ever see the light of day. Because if it did... God, Natalya didn't want to think about it. There was no way she and Cesaro could ever have an affair, she loved Tyson too much to do that. She appreciated what Cesaro had done for her, she really did, but she couldn't do it. The next morning after that incident, she had carefully made him clear her heart still belonged to her husband. Miraculously, the Swiss had accepted it and the two remained friends. Well, maybe they became even more than friends... close friends, perhaps.
Was he still awake at this hour? The chance was big, it was still eight pm. After she ran out of tears, Natalya took off her boots, tossing them in a corner of the bedroom. Taking off her coat, she grabbed her cell phone that she had put in the pocket. She searched for his phone number in her contacts; once she found it, she pressed the dialing button and pressed her cell phone against her ear. She hoped she wouldn't burst into tears again when she would tell her problems to him, that would be so embarrassing. The phone beeped two times before somebody answered her call.
'Hi Nattie! What's up?' a familiar voice with a light German accent spoke on the other side of the phone. Natalya cringed from the inside upon hearing Cesaro's voice and tried her best to fight off the new tears.
'Hey, Cesaro!' she replied. 'What are you doing right now?'
'I'm at the gym right now, I want to work out a little bit before going to sleep.' Just then, the Canadian Diva heard the faint noise of clanging dumbbells on the background. Yup, he was indeed at the gym.
'Don't overdo it, alright? Nobody wants to go to sleep with sore muscles!'
On the other side of the phone, Cesaro laughed about Natalya's joke. Despite everything what happened tonight, Natalya managed to laugh along with him. God, it was so good to talk to him, it instantly lightened her mood.
'No, you don't have to worry about that Nattie, you know me, right?'
'Of course I know you, Cesaro.'
'But hey... how are you doing? You didn't tell me how you were doing, is there something wrong?'
To him, Natalya couldn't lie. After all, she called him for a reason.
'Well... right now I'm really upset...' the Canadian Diva responded with a soft voice, fighting against her tears.
'Why?' For a moment, it stayed quiet on the other side of the line, despite the background noises of the gym. 'Verdammt nochmal, Nattie...' Cesaro said, realizing why she was upset. 'What did Tyson do this time?'
'We... we were going to the movies, and then he made some 'joke' that he would rather stick his eyes out with hot needles than going to watch a movie with me.'
Cesaro sighed in frustration. 'Unbelievable. How could he possibly say that to you? That's just... wrong.'
'I know... He has ruined the whole night, Cesaro. I can't believe he has done that... again.'
'Hey, how would you like it if I went to the movies with you?'
'What? Really?' Natalya blinked her eyes in surprise. Would he really do that for her? My goodness, that was so sweet of him... it made a warm, familiar feeling develop in her abdomen.
'Yeah, sure! What movie did you want to go see anyway?'
Oh dear... Natalya couldn't help but chuckle. 'Well... if I would tell you that, I could give this whole conversation a really awkward twist, you know?'
'Ah come on, Nattie! You can tell me!'
'Alright then...' the Canadian Diva chuckled once more before revealing the answer. 'If you really want to know... I wanted to go see 'Fifty Shades Of Grey'.'
On the other side of the line, the Swiss laughed, but not in an awkward way. Yup, just like any other men, he knew exactly what that movie was going to be about. But for Natalya, he would visit that movie a hundred times with her if he had to.
'Well, sounds like a pretty romantic movie to me!' he joked.
'Are you sure you still want to go with me?' Natalya asked. 'You still can run while you can!'
'No, I really don't mind it Nattie, I really don't!'
'Wow, you are much braver than any other man! I don't know a lot of men who would do that for their girlfriends...'
'Well, I would be doing it, just for you.'
That comment made Natalya blush, like on the nights where she could feel Cesaro's touches on her body all over again. That was such a sweet thing of him to say... Tyson had never said that to her. It sure would've been nice to go to the movies with Cesaro one of these days, it would be great!
'How are you feeling now?' Cesaro suddenly asked. 'Are you feeling a bit better?'
'Yeah, thank you...' the Canadian Diva sighed. 'Thanks for talking to me Cesaro, I hope I didn't waste any of your time.'
'You never waste my time, Nattie.'
So sweet... Natalya couldn't help but slightly biting her lower lip.
'Once again, thank you for talking with me. It... it really helped. I feel a lot better now.'
'That makes me glad. If you ever feel miserable because of Tyson, you can always call me, alright?'
'Thanks a lot. I will see you soon! Good night, Cesaro.'
'Good night, Nattie.'
Click, beep, beep.
Natalya stared at the floor. Yes, Cesaro did make her feel better when they were talking, but now that he had hung up, she started to feel slightly miserable. Would she call him again right now? No, that was not a good idea; it made her look desperate like that.
Three knocks on the door made her snap out of her thoughts. 'Nattie, come on. Please open the door.' Tyson calmly said on the other side of the door.
'Are you deaf, Tyson?!' the Canadian Diva snarled. 'You sleep on the couch tonight!'
'Please Nattie, I want to make it up to you, I really do...'
Natalya shook her head. Damn it. She got up and unlocked the door. Tyson stepped into the bedroom, looking calmer than he was when they got home. 'Look babe, I'm sorry.' he said. 'I guess I shouldn't have said that back then, I really didn't mean to upset you.' He wrapped his strong arms around Nattie's waist, pulling her in for a hug. 'I'm sorry, Nattie. It won't happen again, okay?'
Once again, Natalya couldn't help but forgive her husband for yet another mistake he made. She loved him too much to stay mad at him, damn it. She gave into the hug, closing her eyes and resting her head against his chest. She let out a soft sigh.
Looks like he had won this fight... again.
