When it rains in the Desert
She stood over his grave dressed in all black. She gentle let go of her flower and watched it fall in front of the grave. She turned around and went back to the rest of the mourners. She looked around and was again surprised by the amount of people that had shown up to the man's funeral. She looked around at all of the people that had also known him and all she saw pain and with each face she saw a memory of him would flash threw here mind. It took all of Tenten's strength not to fall on the ground and sob. She was going to move to Suna for him. They were going to get married and have a family. Now all of that was a distant memory that was never happening.
Finally the Kazakage went up and stood next to the grave. The young redhead that never showed emotion was crying. Gaara slowly looked up from his older brother's grave and slowly began his speech. "My brother and I were not always on the best of terms, not until a few years ago when he helped me become the man I am now. He was a dedicated soldier and a faithful brother to my sister and I. I know that all of Suna will feel the lose of Kankuro." With that Gaara stepped down and she knew that it was her turn. She made her way up to the grave again. She looked through the crowd and spotted Temari who was sobbing on a teary eyed Shikamru shoulder. Then she spotted Naruto who was holding a very pregnant Hinata. Both of who were trying to be strong for Gaara who was now standing next to them looking dead. Next she spotted Kiba in the back of the crowd by the look on his face she could tell just how much he was hurting. He had just lost his two best friends', first Akamaru now Kankuro.
She had one final look at the crowd before she began. "I wish that today instead of standing by a grave that it was him. All of him, his charm, his smile, his jokes even the crude ones," she got a few laughs out of this, "I wish that he was here complaining or annoying me. He's not though because he decided that he would rather die then watch his home being destroyed. That's the kind of man he was, the kind that would go into a fight without thinking about his life just others. He was brave, loyal and loving. I know I will miss him, probable for the rest of my life. For his sake though I will always remember him, as he was all of his features even the faults. I Love you Sabaku Kankuro and I always will." She began to cry again and suddenly she felt something wet land on her head. She looked up and it began to rain more and more. The crowd looked around in surprise it never rained in Suna this time of year. She felt a smile grace her face because she knew that this was Kankuro saying goodbye. She felt a kick in her stomach and she new that the new life that Kankuro had left with her was a true blessing.
