Random one-shot I wrote today in Study Skills- Laugh Out Lemons~
No, my lemmings, this fic contains no lemons. I sorry V_V (they're, like, four years old, so..)
L awoke from his dream to the sound of thunder outside. L has a fear of thunder, a psychological fear. Thunder was the reason why his parents died. The lightning had struck their house and it caught on fire. Only L escaped.
L jumped out of bed and ran straight across the hall to Beyond's room. He swung open the door and jumped into the other boy's bed.
"B… B, it's thundering outside…"
"Lawli, it's just a little thunder! Can't you spend one night on your own?" B turned away and put a pillow over his head.
Another loud crash of thunder sounded after an array of lightning pierced through the window.
"B!" L scooted up next to him and shuddered.
Beyond flipped back around and put his arms around L protectively.
"It's OK, Lawlie, I'm here."
L flung his own arms around Beyond's waist and buried his head into the other boy's chest.
"Is there a monster under the bed?" L whispered.
"No, I already checked. And anyways, they only go after wimps like you."
L pushed away from B, "I'm not a wimp!"
Another burst of light followed by a loud sound forced L to retreat back into B's arms. Beyond held him close.
"Of course not," he teased.
For a while they lay in silence, each comforted by each other's presence. Each time thunder struck the Earth, L would hold tighter onto B. L wanted it to stay like this forever. B was a good friend of L's, and he never wanted the other to let go; but L couldn't shake off the feeling that one day this would all fall apart, that one day Beyond would leave forever.
"Hey, B?"
"Hmm?"
"Will you ever leave?"
"No, never."
"Will you always be here?"
"Always."
"Will you stay with me?"
"Yes."
"Promise?"
"I promise."
"Good," L smiled and rested his chin on B's shoulder, "That's all I could ever want, B."
"I know, Lawli," he kissed L's cheek.
"I know too well."
