Out of their team, he was by far the most useless one.
He knew it, and it ashamed him. To no end.
Matsuda sighed. He stared intently at Raito-kun and L, who were seating comfortably by each other, working on the third Kira's case.
His gaze flickered instantly from the two of them to Ryuzaki. He had his thumb in his mouth, and he was holding a paper in front of Raito-kun's face with his other hand, in that odd way of his, the thin paper dancing between his two slender fingers.
He tried to keep a sissy blush from taking over his cheeks when he saw the way L softly bit his thumb.
...Maybe it was a little weird, but part of the shame he felt was because he kept trying so, so hard to do everything right, even the most simple task, like buy the right sweets, and...
...And impress him. Maybe even get some praise.
He coughed, feeling a little overwhelmed, and willed the crimson blush away.
Really, praise from Ryuzaki? From the genious L?
He snorted, lightly.
As if.
Maybe he didn't even want praise, but recognition...
He kept watching L, whose eyes were currently fixed on Raito-kun.
Maybe...
Maybe he just wanted to be noticed...
The sandy haired teen fixed his eyes on the sleep deprived guy's ones. And there was some sort of silent understanding between them.
Like Raito-kun.
Perhaps.
He sighed once again, watching how both men in front of him went over every bit of information the sheet of paper so gladly offered, again. They would discuss over some things, Raito-kun would point others, and L would take note of everything in his huge brain, and nod.
He suddenly smiled a sad smile.
It was a mere wish, but whenever he saw the way L trusted Raito with every idea, with every new bit of information, he just wanted, wished to be the sandy haired teen.
He wished he could be Raito.
L handed the sheet he had been holding to the teenager, and then scooped closer. Raito seemed relaxed, and even eager with the other man's closeness.
His smile faltered a bit.
He wished...
AN: New drabble! Yay! :D
I don't really know what to think about this piece... I wanted it to really reflect Matsuda, because he is one of my favourite characters :D (The chart goes like this: 1-L 2-Mello 3-Matt 4-Near 5- Matsuda... And Mikami Teru and Weddie are definite extras XDDD...) But I'm not that sure I managed to.
Anyways, reviews would save a little kitten from dying xD... (Me xD)
