They were a couple who were frowned upon by MANY people, not because they were both Men, but because they shared the same blood.
"Seriously, Dean! Are you hearing yourself!" The younger brother yelled.
"You want to just stop doing this? Hunting? Us? You want to give up on the best years you've ever had?"
Dean looked at his younger, yet taller, brother. He was smart, had muscles, he had drop dead gorgeous features that he loved.
Dean had gone through so much these past 5 years, himself and Sam had a relationship. But just recently, about 8 months, Sam had become jealous, almost animalistic when it comes to Dean.
Dean had to be with him 24/7. And if not..?
"Stop! Sam, please." Dean begged as his brother kicked him.
Sam looked down at his brother's black eyes, bloody nose, fractured cheekbone and possible broken ribs. What a mess.
'Always causing nothing but trouble.'
Sam thought to himself.
"I'm going out, I actually want a 'Home cooked meal' ready when I get back.
He slammed the door as he left.
Dean scrambled to his feet, steading himself on the wooden table.
A flutter of wings landed behind him.
He didn't look back.
"I deserved it, you know. I know not to piss him off."
Castiel walked to be in eye view of Dean.
"You deserve better. Why do you do this to yourself?"
Dean laughed.
"You don't think I've tried to leave him? I tried tonight, Cas!"
Castiel frowned and gave Dean a sympathetic look.
"No, you're asking to leave. You need to tell him. There is a difference, Dean."
"Apparently not. This is my life now."
Castiel shook his head.
"No, Dean. It's not. You need to rise against him. You're older, you're stronger."
"That was the old me, Cas. There would have been a time I would have stood up to him, hell, I would have hit him back, but that's not me anymore."
The angel shook his head.
"You're wrong Dean. You need help, just ask for my help and I will get you out of here."
Dean stared into Castiel's beautiful ocean blue eyes.
"I don't need you."
That hurt.
"Fine, just pray when you DO need me."
That night as Sam's body smothered his older brother, Dean thought of Castiel. It was wrong to think of another man. But to think Castiel could help, help him with a better life.
He closed his eyes tight and instantly regretted the words he had said.
"Castiel, I need your help."
As soon as the words left his mouth he felt cold, he wasn't wrapped in Sam's strong, warm arms anymore. He was standing before Castiel in an unknown place. It was a deserted old shack. Looked as tho it's been abandoned for at lease 7-10 years.
"I'm glad you called." Castiel smiled.
"I will help you, I will protect you, we'll always be one step ahead, I promise. He'll never hurt you again, Dean."
Dean smiled warmly at Castiel.
"Thanks, Cas. For everything."
Castiel put his hand on Dean's shoulder and they disappeared, unknown to any angel, demon and especially to Sam.
