A poem from Wendla's POV during the hayloft scene. I love Spring Awakening, and I believe. Enjoy...

... ... ...

Warmth,
Your warmth surrounds me,
Every breath of mine is measured
By that of your own.

You invade my senses
Overwhelming me,
Blinding me,
Intoxicating me.

These new sensations are so very strange,
Everything about this is so foreign,
And yet also so familiar,
Because it is you that is here with me now.

When I am with you the world melts away,
Nothing can touch us,
Except the unbarred bliss that engulfs us
As we lie in each other's arms,
Holding so tight it is as if there is no tomorrow.

And there may not be.

All we have is now.

All we have is this.

Our love,
Our bodies,
This night.

But for now,
For eternity,
It is enough.

It is enough to have your eyes,
So clear, staring into mine,
Your lips, so soft and loving against my own,
Your hands as they ignite a fire
That spreads through my skin
Straight to my very center.

But what I most treasure is something
I cannot touch,
Something I can only hear.

Your heartbeat, so strong, so beautiful,
Echoing in my mind,
Long after the final kiss goodbye.
