Olivia Benson watched peacefully as the rain drops rolled just as peacefully off of windows, through streets and down on the occasional accountant's suit. It was a peaceful kind of rain, one you don't get everyday. She was at outdoor bistro themed cafe, waiting patiently. She hummed a little song in her head as she further stirred the sugar into her coffee. The rain rolled down the white and blue awning above her and dropped down in tiny splashes on the sidewalk. Peaceful, yes. Relaxed, not really.

She wasn't relaxed. She could never be relaxed knowing that she was about to talk to the Alex Cabot. Girlfriend or not, the blonde always ran her nerves. In a good way of course. Just as Olivia was checking her watch, Alex rounded the street corner, an umbrella in hand.

"Hello, beautiful." Alex Cabot said in a sing-song tone leaning down and kissing Olivia lightly, a huge smile on her face.

Olivia waited until Alex had sat down at the table before talking. "I would say the same the thing about you."

"Miss Benson, flattery will get you nowhere." Alex smiled sniffing in the early May air.

"I don't know why you say that. You deserve to be flattered." Olivia smiled back just a waitress walked over. The couple ordered their food, the smiles never leaving their faces. Alex liked this, she liked the peacefulness of being with Liv. It was something she struggled to find at first, however she was happier than ever now.

"So, how are you doing? We've barely seen each other lately." Alex asked softly.

"Well, the rookies are okay for the most part. The blonde is cool." Olivia answered with a shrug taking a sip of her coffee.

"The blonde?" Alex laughed.

Olivia shook her head at her girlfriend's silliness and unnoticeable to Alex, began fiddling with her coat pocket. The sun began setting over the Manhattan skyline as the couple talked on, enjoying each other's company blissfully, but as the last rays of sunshine disappeared, Alex noticed that Olivia was acting nervous. Which was very rare for the brunette detective.

"Liv?" The ADA said, bringing her girlfriend of 1 year out of her trance.

"I'm sorry. I kinda zoned out." Olivia answered.

"Everything okay?"

"Alex, I want to ask you something." Olivia said was a sigh.

"Liv, you can ask me anything." Alex reassured as she placed her hand over Olivia, worried at what she might say.

Finally, Olivia removed the object from her coat pocket; a deep purple velvet square box. "Alexandra Cabot, will you marry me?"
