Fabian's POV

Word's cannot describe how I feel right now. My best friend, the love of my life, the girl who cheered me up when I felt down, was leaving. I stood by her window watching as she packed her things into her suitcase. She had tears running down her face. She looked so broken. And she would'nt let me help her.

"Please stay. Cant you come back when it's over?"

She shook her head and continued to pack. She hasnt said a word to anyone since her phone call earlier. Her brother Kevin had called her to tell her that their Gran had died from a heart attack last night. Once she heard that she dropped the phone and fell to the floor.

I walked into the main hall and saw her crying with her head pressed against her knees.

"Nina, what's wrong?"

"She- she's dead."

"Who?"

"Gran."

I leaned in to comfort her but she pushed me away. "I need to be alone right now." She stood up and ran to her room.

"Nina please talk to me?"

Again she shook her head.

"Will you at least let me help you?"

"... Nothing you do or say will make this any better."

"I know. Just let me be here for you." I walked over to her bed and sat on the other side of her suitcase. I wanted so badly to hold her. Tell her everything would be alright. But I knew it wouldnt. I knew she would just say it wont be and then she would feel worse.

I slowly reached for her hand and softly grasped it. "Nina, im here for you. I want to help you get through this."

When she looked down and stared at her feet I knew she had gone back into her silence.

I looked at her and saw a tear fall to the ground. Followed by another. They started to quickly fall and after five seconds there was a small puddle by her foot. I sat closer to her and wrapped my arm around her. She quickly turned and hugged me. I held her tight not wanting to let go. I kissed her head and stroked her hair.

Ten minutes later we were still holding each other and her crying started to slow down. I thought she might've fallen asleep but I heard a sniffle and watched her wipe a tear away. The door opened and I saw Trudy walk in with an upset look on her face.

"Nina sweety, your taxi's here."

She slowly pulled away and nodded at Trudy, "Okay. I'll be down in a minute."

"Take all the time you need. But not too much." She walked out of the room and slowly shut the door.

Nina put her last thing in the suitcase and zipped it up. I pulled it over for her and set it on the floor. She looked up at me and stared into my eyes. I wiped the remaining tear on her face and held my hand against her cheek. "Im gonna miss you."

She nodded, "I'll miss you too." She quickly kissed me and stood up. She pulled the handle on her bag and dragged it out of the room.

And just like that, she was out of my life forever.
