July's Complaint

Sometimes, I wonder if Annie even thinks about the rest of us when she's planning her escapes. Like this morning. Did she even bother to stop for a moment and think about how the rest of us would pay if she got caught? Did she stop and think to herself "Hey, maybe I shouldn't do this. If I get caught, we all will be punished." No. She didn't because she was SO sure she'd escape. And now, its four o'clock in the morning and all seven of us are scrubbing the floor and stripping the beds. When six of us didn't do anything.

And it's not as if Annie doesn't know how Miss Hannigan works. Annie probably knows better than anyone that if one of us does something wrong, all of us will get in trouble. If this was her first attempt at escaping, I wouldn't mind so much, probably. I probably wouldn't be so mad. But its not. This is like the fifth or sixth time now and like usual, Annie got caught.

You'd think she would have gotten the message by now. That it's impossible to escape from this place. But no. She just keeps on believing she can find a way out. Just like she keeps on believing that her parents are alive.
