Percy and Annabeth walked into the small coffee shop off 55th street. This was one of the few days that they got to leave Camp Half-Blood by themselves.
"I'll have one medium caramel latte with extra whipped cream-" Percy began.
"Percy," Annabeth chided. "You know what happens when you have too much sugar."
Percy hung his head jokingly. "Fine. We'll have one small, plain decaf and one chocolate cappuccino with a shot of chocolate syrup."
The employee quickly got their drinks, so that she could get back to Teen Vogue. Percy tried to grab the cappuccino, but Annabeth snatched it first.
"Nice try, Seaweed Brain." She snorted.
They chose a small table by the window so that the young couple could look out onto the street.
"Hey, Annabeth. Could you grab me a sweetener real quick?" Percy asked innocently.
Annabeth narrowed her eyes. She knew something was up, but she couldn't figure it out. Nevertheless, she casually walked back to the counter and took a few packets of Sweet 'n Low. As she turned to walk back, she saw Percy hurriedly slurping her coffee.
Percy had just finished when Annabeth snatched her drink out of his hand.
"Jerk!" she exclaimed, trying to hide her smile.
"They have Wi-Fi here! And computers!" Percy said, bouncing in his seat.
Great, Annabeth thought. The sugar rush had begun.
Percy ran over to one of the computers. "I wanna check out Facebook!"
"Percy," Annabeth tried to explain. "If we use it, we're going to get tracked by monsters."
But the boy had already opened up Facebook and made himself a profile. His newest update read "The amazing Percy Jackson who saved the world is now on Facebook! You're welcome."
He searched for Thalia, Nico, Travis, Connor, Grover, and Katie, but none of them were on there.
"Why aren't any of our friends on?" Percy asked, coming down from his sugar high after a few minutes.
"Because-" Annabeth began, but she was cut off.
An empousa walked in the door. "What do I have here?" she hissed. "Two demigods! Yum!"
She walked closer to the couple, tossing her golden hair over her shoulder. "This should be easy."
Percy pulled out Riptide and distracted her, while Annabeth shoved her knife in the empousa's back
"That's why we don't use Facebook, and why nobody's on." Annabeth said. "We were lucky it was only one. Now imagine the whole camp using computers. Do you know how many monsters there would be?"
Percy grinned. "That was fun!"
"You're an idiot."
"But I'm your idiot."
Annabeth rolled her eyes. "Let's get back to camp before we attract all the monsters in a ten mile radius."
