A sweet smell filled Harry Potters nostrils, it smelled like chicken but harry knew that uncle Dursley said meat was too expensive during the "off season" for tools. Harry knew this was a crock but he said nothing as the cabbage was spread on his plate day and night. He opened his eyes and crawled out of his bed. It was a scorching day on Privet drive. July 16....by now school seemed so far away harry didn't want to consider the notion of going back yet. He put on his clean (and very baggy) hand-me-downs from his cousin Dudley Dursley who was now 15 and could easly out-weigh a Jumbo-Jet. He could hear Aunt Petunia down stairs cooing dudley on how handsome he was...a sick picture formed in Harrys head. It was dudley sitting at the table with his Girlfriend (which he had to witness the night before). For once in Harrys life he could say someone was heavier than dudley. Her name was Bertha (surprise surprise) and Harry thought she could have easliy jumped and the world would be thrown off its access! Harry rubbed this eyes and decided it was time to try Betsy Blotters Every Colored Contact Lenses (also availible in olive). He looked in his dusty mirror and tried what seemed like the 50th time to get them in. After about 10 minutes he gave up and reached for his old black frames. Now ready for the day Harry turned to pet hedwig and yet her cage was empty. For a minute Harry stood there wondering if he had sent her out the night before. Suddenly the sweet smell drifted up the stairs again. Harry paid no mind and thought he may have sent her out to deliver some note to Ron about quidditch. He opened his door (the smell being more powerful) and he ran downstairs. Dudley (or what could be confused as the blob itslef) was sitting at the table...his chubby stubby arms reaching for Uncle Vernons bacon.
"Whats that smell?" Harry asked Aunt Petunia.
"Its dinner boy no shut up and eat yer bloody breakfest!"
Harry sat down and licking his lips began to viciously tare away at a peice of bacon. He looked up to see Dudleys plate filled to the brim with greese yet with no bacon in sight. Harry finished his bacon swiftly. He heard the clink of the mail slot and saw Aunt Petunia leave the kitchen in a hurry as if she was expecting something. Quickly harry was dieing to see what that smell was.He opened the oven saw a bird in a pan...
"uhh uncle vernon?"
"what do you want?" Uncle said Angerly
"what kinda bird is this?" said Harry now choking up
Aunt petunia walked in the room and saw harry at the oven.
"what is it Boy?"
"what kinda bird is this Aunt?" said harry still choking up in terror
"Snow Owl"
Harry screamed...he picked up what was once his bird and hugged it sobbing.
"STOP IT THATS MY DINNER!!!!!"screamed Dudley as he sat up and tackled harry trying to pry the greasy bird from harrys fists. After an extremely tiring fist fight with Dudley harry ran back to his room wondering how he was gonna get though without his beloved Hedwig.
Meanwhile downstairs
