"Hey Cynder..." Ember said her name cautiously as the pink dragoness padded up to the black dragoness, they weren't exactly one another's favourite dragon, unlike their two male friends, "Have you seen Spyro?"
Cynder lifted her head from her rest and looked at the pink dragoness with a roll of her eyes. "Shouldn't you know that yourself by now? You're always chasing after him" She looked away and muttered to herself, "Not to mention he obviously doesn't like you and you can't seem to take a hint".
"I've checked everywhere he normally is! But I can't find him anywhere!"
Oh, maybe he's with that red dragon again today, hasn't he told this stupid dragoness yet? Cynder thought to herself before looking back at Ember, "Well, I don't know where he is either, perhaps he's with Ignitus or someone practicing his breaths".
"Oh yeah, I haven't checked the Dragon Temple yet! Thanks Cynder!" Ember then ran off happily, excited to find the purple dragon she was always seeking day by day. Cynder only shook her head and laid back down to finish her rest. "That stupid, stupid female, she really needs to get a grip".
Spyro stretched out across the flat surface of the boulder he lay upon, his tail flicking gently up and down as his eyes closed, a peaceful expression on his face as he let the sun warm his body. He caught the sound of pawsteps approaching but didn't move from his spot until a weight pressed against his side. He opened his eyes and lifted his head a little to find Flame laid on his side, pressed against the purple dragon. Spyro murred happily and laid his head back down, shutting his eyes once again, a wing draping over Flame's side in a cuddle. The red dragon murred back as the two rested together under the sun. "Told ya it was peaceful here, didn't I?" Flame broke the silence between them.
"Yeah, it is. Especially since Ember will never look for me here, and I get to spend my time with you".
"Mhm, have you told any dragon about us yet?"
"Only Cynder and the Guardians".
"You haven't told your biggest stalker/admirer that you're not available for mating?"
"I know I should" Spyro sighed, letting Flame nuzzle against his neck, "But I just can't find a way to tell her so that she'll get the message and leave me alone".
"Buddy, might as well just tell it to her straight" Flame then cracked up at the small ironic joke, the vibrations of his amusement tingling Spyro's scales.
Spyro sighed again and smiled, hitting Flame lightly with his wing. He gave a small chuckle of his own after a moment. Yeah, I really do need to find a way to tell Ember and make sure it sticks in her head, he thought as Flame snuggled a bit closer to him, Oor perhaps I could ask Cynder to do it for me, perhaps getting it from someone like her would make her understand better.
I've waited too long to do something like this - to do a small drabble where Ember is chasing after Spyro and Spyro's hiding from her. Cliché but cute when you add Flame into the mix
