The song is on here because I like it and it sounds quite calming...

Jack carefully opened the window and snuck in. He visited this house in England whenever he passed. A teenage girl lived there and Jack knew she loved winter-especially snow. Right now it was autumn so
Jack was just paying a visit. Jack hoped the girl was watching TV; he liked the movies she watched. Instead, the girl was typing on her iPod, lying on top of her bed.
Jack peered over the girls shoulder and read what she had written.

It was a poem.

If I die, before my time,
Please burn my heart,
My head, and a hand,
To release my soul,
From my mortal body,
So I may live on,
In a place that I love

Then please bury,
The rest of me,
With a family photo,
And books I love,
Dressed in pyjamas,
With hair long and loose,
So it looks like I sleep,
To a heavenly song.

Jack felt something stir inside him. He wondered how long he had. How long it would take for him to be noticed, or how long he had till he... died.

He thought about the poem.

'Please burn my heart,
My head, and a hand'
That was strange. The heart... Could represent emotions? The head... The mind? The hand... Jack thought for a moment... Associated with the 5th sense, touch... Physical being?

'To release my soul,
From my mortal body'
Obviously this girl believed in the afterlife or something similar...
She obviously believed the head, the heart and a hand made up the 'soul' of a person...

'So I may live on,
In a place that I love'
Definitely asking the reader to scatter their burnt ashes... In a place they love...

'Then please bury,
The rest of me'
Jack wasn't sure what to make of that stanza... To give this girls family a last goodbye perhaps?

'With a family photo,
And books I love'
Hmmmm... Jack thought. She must love her family and love reading...

'Dressed in pyjamas,
With hair long and loose'
As if the girl wants to look like she's sleeping?

'So it looks like I sleep,
To a heavenly song.'
Jack was right; she wants to look like she's sleeping...
'heavenly song'... Does she love singing?

Jack peered at the girl. She was staring at the piece of paper, deep in thought. She looked peaceful. Jack looked carefully around her room. The girl looked 15 but there were several stuffed toys dotted around the room. Nothing showed that this girl could be unhappy with her life. Instead, many photos of this girl with family and friends were dotted around the room. This girl looked very happy in each picture. She must have written the poem on a whim then...

Jack looked back at the girl as she started humming. She cleared her throat then started singing.

"Dark the stars and dark the moon,
Hush the night and the morning loon,
Tell the horses and beat on your drum,
Gone their master, gone their son"

The song seemed rather sad but the girl was smiling softly as she sang. She had a nice voice, Jack thought. He sat on the end of her bed and listened.

"Dark the oceans, dark the sky,
Hush the whales and the ocean tide,
Tell the salt marsh and beat on your drum,
Gone their master, gone their son,

Dark to light and light to dark,
Three black carriages, three white carts,
What brings us together is what pulls us apart,
Gone our brother, gone our heart"

The girl closed her eyes and put one headphone in, Jack could faintly hear the music coming from the other ear bud. She continued singing.

"Hush the whales and the ocean tide,
Tell the salt marsh and beat on your drum,
Gone their master, gone their son"

Jack slowly crept out of the room. He climbed out of a window and flew away. Humming the song and thinking of the girl's poem...
