Some Things You Have To Do For Yourself

Summary: After re-watching "Heart" I felt the need to write what I felt was the missing scene when Sam goes to shoot Madison. Just a quite short ficlet.
"Close your eyes." Sam instructed, his voice soft, tickling her ear as his lips grazed across her cheek.
Madison obeyed, as he came closer she could feel the wetness on her cheeks but she didn't know if they were his tears or hers.
Sam felt a shiver run down his spine as he let his lips graze over hers…one last kiss. He loved her and he was going to kill her. It was the worst feeling that he had ever felt but Sam understood, there wasn't any other way. She was a werewolf and this was the only way out.
Dean had offered to do it for him, he'd practically begged his brother so that he could spare him this feeling but…this was one thing Sam had to do for himself, something that Dean couldn't do for him.
Sam raised the gun to her eye-level and pulled the trigger. It was instantaneous and Sam couldn't help the instinct to catch her as she crumbled to the ground.
"I'm sorry." He whispered, the tears falling as he watched the blood poor from the wound and surround her ace, framing it.
Dean gave him a moment, no longer, and Sam knew he couldn't give him any longer. Dean pulled him away and with one last glance back at Madison, Sam said goodbye.
