The End of It All

He never imagined it would happen this way after the Battle of Hogwarts, that is. Here he was all grown up but there is still danger lurking everywhere, he should have known that all the evil would never go away, but he hoped it would have waited until he was old and no longer a threat. But alas the new threat has come again, and this time more dangerous than the last. But this time there were more people relying on him, his wife, children. Now, just sitting here waiting for death to come to him, he can picture all he loves in his mind. His beautiful wife, always loving him, even during the worst of the war. His loving children, who were willingly sticking up for him in school with all the bullying about their parents. His mind wandered back to the day he proposed. Such a wonderful, glorious day. It was raining, not the bad, gloomy kind of rain, but a cozy comforting rain. It was just them, sitting by the fireplace not doing much of anything. He looked at her sitting on the couch curled up next to him. It was then he knew. It was going to be now, they were away from everybody else. And so he did. Then, two years later his first son was born. The happiest three years in his life.

Pain. Pain. All he felt was pain jolting him out of his thoughts. Pain taking over his mind, body. He wished they'd just get it over with now, not extending it out. Around him he heard mumbling, but he was slipping in and out of consciousness not able to tell who it was and where he was being kept and tortured. Trying to open his eyes was impossible, as was getting out of here alive. The severity of the situation now presented itself to him. Now he could feel the tears coming from inside him. Now he would never return home, never tell his family how much he loved them. That was the one thing he wished he could remember, his parents telling him how much they loved him. And now his kids wont have a father growing up either. It is even worse on them because they knew him, they would miss him knowing who he was, where he came from. They would feel sad when they lost him, but there was nothing he could do. The pain just continued to swell up. Voices shouting at him, probably torturing curses. Then the first on hit him. A Cruciatus Curse was shot at him, causing him to wither in pain. Soon a few more came, his body not able to handle the pain. He wished he could die right now, the feeling of white-hot knives piercing his body, but multiplied by ten. The masked men around him continued, fighting as hard as they could making sure he would suffer, for no reason at all, but they made him suffer. He could constantly sense his vision clouding over, but when he was about to fall back into unconsciousness he would come back to full alertness, making the pain worse. Although he couldn't see he could tell that his vision was clouding again. There was a strange eerie feeling about it this time, he couldn't place it. Then he knew, it was his time. There was just too much pain to bare, letting in the blackness couldn't be bad. Slowly it took over his body, he couldn't think properly. The darkness went all through his body, slowly taking his last breath away. Harry Potter was dead.

A/N- This was a response to troubleclef27's Last Moments challenge. I guess I never did want Harry to die peacefully :P but requests are welcome!
