"My feeling knows no waver…"
Was it only an illusion? No, it's not. It was too vivid in her vision that her best friend was enraptured by the beauty of their new friend.
Was it love? Yes, maybe. At least up until now she didn't know what was that all about.
Did it make her jealous? Well, maybe it did. For starters, it did hurt her a bit seeing those two spending time together.
Lastly, did it make her hate her best friend? Of course not. There's no way she would do that.
For Dia, Kanan is an existence that's always been a part of her life. An important part in it.
If she's given a choice between choosing Kanan and her girlfriend, she would, without a moment's hesitation, choose the former without fail.
Why? Because for her, Kanan's happiness is more priceless than her own happiness.
Well, not really because Dia was the happiest if her best friend always showed that bright smile she always love all this time.
When Mari slowly getting closer to them, Dia was happy.
She was really happy that Kanan beamed those light-filled smiles almost every time whenever Mari's around.
As a result, Dia realized that if she wanted Kanan to be happy then she needed to accept Mari wholeheartedly.
Well, she did and it was great. She got a new friend and her best friend was shining more than ever.
But when Kanan found out about Mari's constant refusal to studying abroad, Dia saw the lucid nightmare inside the smile she loved.
And suddenly Kanan approached her and said that they needed to stop Aqours or Mari would never choose to go from Uchiura.
Dia knew why Kanan chose to do something like that. She knew her friend and it was obvious she wanted Mari to be shining brighter than in here.
But by sacrificing her best friend's happiness? But it's her best friend's choice? What should she do?
She didn't get an answer thus she chose to follow Kanan's will and let her best friend experienced an obvious incoming sadness by their choice.
Well, at least she could support Kanan until she's back to her usual self.
A year passed and Mari showed herself again in Uchiura.
Dia was both happy and sad.
She was happy that Kanan finally had a chance to be the joyful Kanan again, but she was sad that Kanan's wish couldn't be fulfilled.
And in the midst of confusion, she chose to side with Kanan as usual but it only bring more sadness to her best friend?
So, will siding with Mari brought another result? She tried and it did.
Dia was happy when she saw Kanan's figure, holding Mari in her arms, with her cheeks basked in tears of happiness.
It was worth the sacrifice she did in refusing all the efforts her little sister did in making her be happy.
Well, if Kanan wasn't happy she herself didn't need to be happy, right? AT least that's what inside her mind.
And now, after the problems with her two fellow best friends has ended, it's time for her to answer Ruby's wish.
So she did it. She approached Hanamaru and thanked her for always waiting for her.
Because if it's not for her junior, she would never be able to support Kanan without crying all the time seeing those sad faces of her best friend all this time.
Because without Hanamaru, she would never be able to realize the thing she needed to do to fix the confusing situation between her best friends.
Well, now that Kanan has once again occupy her place in Mari's heart, it's now her turn to settle in and fight for her own share of happiness with her junior.
Because there's Mari who will deal with Kanan's happiness from now on, then it's fine for her to answer her junior's love, right?
Because even Dia needs her own love partner, right?
At least she knows that as long as Kanan is happy then she will always be happy, even if it means a happiness without her being by Kanan's side like she once dreamed in the past.
