Inspired by the daily prompt "tomorrow" in the HPFC.
Tomorrow
It's a month after Emmeline Vance's death and the Order is still in pieces.
Tonks has lost the special spice of hers that makes her Tonks. Now she just sits and is miserable from head to toe, and Molly finds herself missing her bright hair colours and clumsiness.
Clara is mourning Emmeline and has reached the level where you are angry to anyone else who dares to show sorrow of any kind. One day she blows up in the meeting, screams at Tonks ("Stop acting like you need our sympathy! It's not like you have ever lost anything, pathetic little princess!") and rushes away, slamming the doors behind her.
Molly tries to help both of them, but neither of them listens. Tonks avoids company and slips from her hands like an eel, and against all the odds it's Moody's shoulder Clara cries on.
There is a thin golden band in Kingsley's left hand, and Molly is the only one who notices it. She congratulates him and he thanks with a ghost of a smile on his face. Molly watches him walk away and wonders what she has possibly done wrong this time.
Billy and the twins are always so busy and her other babies are away. Tomorrow seems so far away thing, even waking up in the morning is hard. She misses the time all the children were very little, when life was easier to all of them.
It has been long time since Molly has felt herself as useless as she feels now.
(With nothing else to do Molly takes her wand and makes some meatballs.)
