They were emerald, I had decided. But not in the cliché way that everyone had said. I just couldn't find a better way to describe the eyes that were now staring me down. They were mesmerizing and beautiful, but deadly. Those lifeless eyes held nothing but arrogance and pride. And a secret, as if he knew something about me that I didn't.
"You really don't know do you?" He said, looking at me curiously. He chuckled and shook his head. "No, of course you don't. Your father 'died' some time ago. Am I right?"
He said it like he already knew the answer. Hatred boiled inside me. Who did he think he was?
"My father is none of your business!" I spat.
He only laughed again. "Oh, but he is. You see, I knew your father better than you ever did." He smiled lazily and held my gaze without blinking once.
My parents had died when I was born, and this boy standing here now looked no older than I did.
"That's impossible" I said
Suddenly he was standing in front of me. He placed a hand on my chin so I was forced to look up into his eyes. Something inside of me screamed run, but I was frozen to the spot. Unable to move and barely able to breath.
"You should know love," he smiled crookedly and moved closer, "nothing is impossible for me."
And just like that, he was gone. I sank to the ground as my breathing slowly returned to normal.
