Summary: Sometimes Maya thinks she's moved on. DRABBLE.

Disclaimer: Don't own Degrassi. 'Nuff said.

Author's Note: This literally popped into my head right as I was about to go to bed last night.

Sometimes Maya thinks she's moved on; that he is nothing more than a remnant from the past that she would much rather forget. And she goes to great lengths to forget about him, shedding everything that reminds her of him, including herself. Well, the self she used to be – the naïve, awkward, completely and utterly enamored girl who fell hard for the boy with sad brown eyes. So she creates herself anew, becoming someone she hardly recognizes, and doesn't look back. She feigns confidence, flirting and flaunting, exuding sexual desire and garnering attention left and right, all in an effort to erase him from her memory.

Miles almost makes her forget. Almost. He's charming and cool, and confident in ways he never was. He doesn't treat her like glass or put her on a pedestal. To Miles, she's no beacon of light. Most importantly, he has no knowledge of what happened, and she never tells him because with Miles, she can start fresh. But Miles is also self-destructive in ways that remind her too much of him, and when she tries to talk to him – to steer him away from that behavior – that's when the fights start. Loud, explosive screaming matches in the middle of the halls, where everyone can hear and see. He's too stubborn to admit anything is wrong and after a while, it becomes too much. She feels like history is going to repeat itself. She ends it before it does.

Unlike Miles, Zig knows. He knows everything, and she soon finds comfort in his bed. They're both a little messed up from what happened, she thinks. It changed them. Zig is different now, but the same. She doesn't know how to explain it, but she doesn't dwell on the matter. Zig is safe. Even with everything he's gotten involved in, Zig isn't a ticking time bomb waiting to go off. They indulge themselves in a world of debauchery and together, they forget. It's the greatest pleasure Maya's ever known.

Until she goes to sleep, that is.

And all she sees is the boy with sad brown eyes, and what could have been.

I have no idea. I wrote this when I was semi-conscious so… yeah. I hope it was good. I know it was kind of random.

Anyway, please REVIEW and let me know what you think!
