Cool lips kissing her breasts, her throat, her chin, her lips. So strong and so soft. Cool hands accompanied them, hands made of marble, touching everywhere. It was too much and at the same time not enough. Just a little, just a little more and-

"Oh my God!" Buffy awoke, panting and sweating. "Oh God!"

She was patrolling. It was her duty. Patrolling. In cemeteries. Because there were vampires there. And vampires killed humans. And Slayers protected humans. And she was the Slayer. See, her duty. It had nothing to do with-

"Spike!" Buffy sighed in frustration. "I know you're there."

"So?" the blonde vampire came out of the shadows.

The Slayer turned around lifting a delicate eyebrow.

"So you can stop following me. It's annoying." and she gave him her most annoyed and disinterested look to prove her point.

"Who says I was following you, Slayer?" Spike lifted a brow in return. "I was headed for the Bronze."

With that the peroxide blond passed her by and continued his walk.

He passed her by. Spike passed her by. Buffy was torn between going home to call Giles and ask him if the apocalypse was coming and following the vampire. Deciding that her Watcher won't appreciate her reason for believing that the end of the world was coming, the Slayer went after her…former enemy.

The blonde looked around the Bronze. No Scoobies around. So far, so good. And then she saw her target. Sitting on the bar and chatting with a girl. Buffy watched as the brunette stood up, put her hand on Spike's shoulder and tilted her head toward the dance floor apparently asking him to dance with her. The Slayer didn't like that. She didn't know why. She didn't want to know why. She just didn't like it. So she marched toward the couple without a second thought.

"I want you."

Two sets of eyes turned on Buffy when the words left her month. One brown and kind of angry and one blue and kind of hopeful. Both surprised. Spike stood up and headed for the exit without so much as a word and Buffy followed leaving behind a dumbfounded girl.

The second they were out of the Bronze Buffy took hold of the lapels of Spike's duster and slammed his back against the brick wall and her lips against his. Neither of them knew how long they kissed, only stopping so Buffy could take in some much needed air. Their kisses didn't take time. They didn't exist here, they were from some other world where time was only theirs.

"Buffy? Pet? Let's move that to my crypt, shall we?" and with that they were back on earth.

Buffy finally opened her eyes and looked at Spike.

"No…No! I should go home!" the Slayer abruptly released the vampire and started to walk away.

"I left that chick because of you, to be with you." Spike's words stopped Buffy in her tracks but she didn't turn around.

"I never asked you to." The Slayer kept walking. The night wasn't stake-free.
