A Night With Scarlette
We laid silently on the grass, staring up at the star-filled sky. Scarlette was tucked neatly into the crook of my arm, resting her head on my chest.
"Clint?" She said quietly
"Yes, Love?" I asked her
"Something's bothering me." She said turning over to lay on her back.
"I noticed." I said stroking her hair. "What's wrong?"
"I'm worried."
"About what?" I said turning to lay on my side and face her.
"That we're going to get caught." She said sighing.
"Scarlette" I whispered "Come closer."
She turned onto her side and looked me in the eye.
"We aren't going to get caught, Love" I said kissing her on the top of her head. I gently caressed her face with my hand. "Besides, Don't worry. It makes me upset." I kissed her top lip lightly and laid back in the grass.
"Clint..." She said laying next to me and resting her head on my shoulder
"What now, Love?" I asked stroking her hair.
"I love you" She said as I pulled her closer to me and tucked her back under my arm.
"I know, Love." I said and kissed the top of her head again. We laid there in silence until sunrise.
She stood up slowly and I grabbed her hand. "Have a good day Scarlette." I said kissing her cheek. We slowly began to walk our separate ways. As I crossed over the fence and though I could barely see her face, I knew she could still read my lips.
"I love you"
