Sorry, Ryuk does not appear in the story (unless I decide to)

The End and the Beginning

Light stood at the edge of a building and surveyed his creation. What a terrifying beauty he had created. All color had left the earth. Not a bit of life stirred. Right below, he could see the faint fire

ofa car still flickering up towards him. What used to be skyscrapers were now totally wiped clean. They used to be such a hassle. Now they were gone, and he could finally see clear across the

surface of the earth. The whole city was gone-the ground smooth, a giant plain. He laughed in delight at the beauty of it all. The giant weight he had dragged around all his life was lifting clear off

his chest and lazily floating up into the yellow sky. What had he come here for, he no longer remembered. But as he stood there on top of the last, lonely, skyscraper, he trully smiled for the first

time and yelled "I'M ON TOP OF THE WOOOORLD!!!" Yes, he, Light, had created this new and wonderful world. To be free from the screams, the noise, the people! Aaah yes, a fantastic world it

was. He was the God now. He had every power imaginable. "I could fly." He whispered closing his eyes. Smiling serenely, he spread his arms wide with pure joy. He could feel the wings spreading

and tasting the wind for the first time. It had a leathery feel to it and the feathers were fanged. He let a tear wander down his cheek. Finally, the boy leaped into the air. He could see charred trees

here and there and unidentifiable debris littering the ground like dead ants. Light soared up, dipped whirled and pirouhetted in mid-stirde until a small movement caught his eye. It was a girl.

Although her hair was disheveled and her clothes close to grey tatters, she stood there, staring at him with big haunting eyes. Her lips were smirking-laughing at him. Suddenly, the child laughed

and pranced around giggling and jumping in mid-air. Light hated that. He had been so close to peace. "You deserve to die, little girl" he commented harshly. It didn't matter if he kept his

composure anymore. But that girl just laughed and leaped up trying to reach him. Without a thought, he dove straight for her. She stopped as he got closer and closer. He whipped out his hand

to reveal perfectly arched claws protruding from his fingers, and died. The last thing he saw before he subconsciously closed his eyes to his new but ending world, was the girl's face staring down

at him with those big, silvery, eyes.

GAAAAAAHHH!!!! this took me sooooo long and I can't stand the deppressing aura I created that suffocates me now! Comments much appreciated and constructive criticism welcome. Just to tell you I am not very good at writing this kind of stuff because my personality is happy-with-life and go with the flow. Your comments will determine if I will continue with this story or not. Thanks for reading!!!

Next chapter preview; It hadn't been so hard. All he had to do was look at his home from a different point of view.
