Bella sat on her bed and stared out the window, the phone lay still in her un-moving hand. As she watched the raindrops fall down the window they reminded her of how she used to cry. At that moment she let out a soft whimper and wished she could cry. The news she just received would change her life and she didn't know if she was able to cope. A painful sigh escaped her mouth as she repeated the words aloud to the others "Charlie is dead".

She repeated the account of her telephone call with Seth, as she babbled her way through the tale Bella could feel Renesmee and Edward at her sides comforting her. " He...he died in a car crash...he is...was always so safe and takes care when driving...I..I don't know how this could have happened"

(SETH'S P.O.V)

It had all happened so suddenly. I was taking vampire watch near the center of Forks while still remaining well hidden from the public eye. There was a loud screeching noise from the brakes of cars but it was too late. I saw Charlie and his police car hurtle into a nearby ditch landing with a heavy 'thump' on it's side, while the car that caused the accident lay on it's back a few meters up the road. I transformed back to myself and ran towards Charlie to help, but I could tell I was too late.

Charlie lay slouched over in his seat belt un-moving, breathless, lifeless as blood still oozed from the deep cuts he received from the shattered glass. I will never get the image of his face from head, the look in his eyes as they glared back at me, with an un-natural glassy gleam of nothingness wishing for hope, but receiving none. As the crowd gathered I asked them to back off and let him be while the ambulance came tearing down the street. Once they came they immediately pronounced him dead. At that moment I rang Bella and told her of the death of Charlie and how the ambulance said they would bring him to the hospital and said for her to go down there in her own time.
