Loud thunder shook the Elric household. Rain and wind beat at the windows and flooded the yard. The entire interior was silent, aside from the pounding storm.

Suddenly, as a loud crash of lightening split the calm demeanor of the home, a dark but small silhousette raced down the raced down the stairs and into a room at the end of the hall. As the child leaped onto the bed, his parents gasped in shock.

"What is it?" came the muffled voice of his father.

The mother laughed softly as her son buried under their blankets. "Alphonse, are you afraid of storms?" she asked. Her little boy nodded and tears streaked down his face.

"It's alright. I'll take him," Hohenheim said. He took Alphonse in his arms and walked him to his room. "Thunder is nothing to be afraid of," he said, helping his son back into bed. "Goodnight," he said with a smile.
