Sam sat on his bed silently staring out the window as tiny droplets of water pounded against the glass.
"Your brother didn't come to visit today either. I bet he's ashamed to call you his brother." Sam winced at the words and glanced toward the noise. Blue eyes stared back at him before he quickly turned away. Lucifer was not someone he wanted to talk to.
He isn't real. Sam reminded himself.
Sam glanced up when a soft pressure pressed down on his shoulder. "Hey Cas." Sam smiled a little at the sight of the man. He made a move to stand, but Castiel pushed him back down and sat beside him.
"I was in a group therapy session I hope you didn't wait long." Cas looked at Sam with a passive look, but there was something in his eyes that appeared broken.
"No not at all." Sam lightly gripped Cas's hand. "How was it? The therapy session that is."
Cas shrugged. "It was the same as any other therapy I guess." Castiel looked away from Sam his gaze wandering to the window. His head hurt and his medicine wasn't working as well as usual. He could feel Godstiel whispering in is head again waiting for an opportunity to what the doctors referred to as 'switching'.
Sam squeezed Cas's hand causing him to glance over and smile. Being around Sam always made Cas feel better. It quieted any chaos in his own mind.
"You seem a bit sad. Did your brother not come again?" Cas
"Because he's ashamed to have a crazy brother!" Lucifer shouted leaning over Sam his hands gripping Sam's shoulders for support.
Sam winced at the contact squeezing Cas's hand a bit tighter. He silently reminded himself again Lucifer wasn't real, that he wasn't actually touching him. Finally he shook his head and gave Cas a reassuring smile to say he was alright with it.
"Something else is bothering you." Cas said leaning in closer to Sam.
Sam blushed and looked away. "Uh yeah…"
"Is it him? Lucifer I mean." Cas looked concerned.
Sam bit his lip and nodded as the pressure increased on his shoulders. Cas gave Sam's hand a reassuring squeeze before pulling him into a hug. Normally Sam would be the one to start physical contact especially when it came to hugging, but Sam seemed to need some sort of comfort and Cas was there for him.
Sam felt safe in Castiel's embrace and the pressure slowly dissipated and he was at peace well as much at peace as he could be.
"Should we separate them?" One nurse asked.
"No of course not they seem happy." Another nurse asked.
"Not everything that makes us happy is good for us." Huffed the first nurse.
"Well it's a good thing they're not bad for each other now is it?" said a smug third nurse.
A/N: I would like to point out that I wrote this at three in the morning so I know it's not the best, but I hope you enjoyed it a bit anyways.
