AN: Just a little what if thought that has been bugging me enjoy.
Rikki and Zane were on a date. They had just left the movie theater. Strolling down the sidewalk with some ice pops on this hot sunny day. Rikki was being precautious with her ice pop. She had her stick wrapped in a napkin that shielded her hand from the dripping flavored ice. She even had extras in her pocket.
"So what did you think of the movie?" Zane asked her.
"Well it was a good storyline. Being based off the original fairytale." Rikki said smiling teasingly. It was a live action modern version of the Little Mermaid.
"Even if it was a Mermaid movie?" Zane asked.
"Hypothetically, what if that were us? What if I were a Mermaid? Would you hunt and expose me?" Rikki asked seriously.
"Well it'd be a shock and adjustment. I would never hurt you. I could never knowingly hurt you." Zane said seriously and he really meant it.
Rikki smiled she believed him. Then she felt cold water. Some kids running by throwing water balloons s hit her in the face. She dropped her ice pop and ran for the water nearby. They were walking by the canal in the park.
Zane watched her run and dive. He was tired of letting her get away. He wanted to know all of her. He knew her well enough to know she was going to Mako island.
He ran to the docks and hopped in his zodiac to follow.
He hiked the island looking for her. He was by the stream that was by the cave. Climbing along the rocks he slipped and slid into the cave.
Sitting up he tried to climb the slippery slope but failed. So he decided to see if there was another way out.
Entering the cave with the moon pool he saw Rikki moping. She had her arms crossed on the edge and her body was submerged.
"I knew I'd find you here... You were serious with your question." Zane was happy he was right then a little shocked. At seeing her tail.
"Now you know." Rikki said quietly unsure of herself or Zane she wasn't sure which.
"Rikki it doesn't matter. Like I said earlier. No more hunting or exposing." He reassured her sitting on the ledge putting his feet in next to her. "Besides it doesn't get better then dating one." He teased.
"Oh really!" Rikki exclaimed grabbing his wrist and pulling him in the water.
He came up smirking and pulled her close kissing her. She smiled into the kiss. Wrapping her arms around his neck. As he wrapped his arms her waist.
"Curiosity peaking along with something else. How do you change back?" Zane teased playfully as he asked. She could feel his something else.
"Like this." She climbed out of the pool as best she could. Zane climbed out to help her. When she was a foot or so from the pool. She held her hand over her tail. Steam started to rise and in a few moments she was dry. Sitting in her normal clothes. She then dried him off too.
"Woah! Toasty." He smiled crawling to her from his spot. He pulled her in for another kiss. This one becoming more passionate very fast. He kissed her cheek and neck working his way down.
