She walked down the aisle, a white veil covering her face. A single tear drop coming down the side of her cheek. When she had been a little girl she had hoped that the people she loved would be at her wedding. It was now coming true but at one beloved member of her family had her time come.
Eight Year old Samantha Manson looked outside the window. "Grandma, When I get married, will you come to my wedding?"
Her grandmother glanced at her before replying, "Of course, Sammy."
"Promise?"
"I promise."
"Thank you, Nana."
"Nana, please don't die on me." Twenty year old soon to be Samantha Fenton pleaded. She knew that her grandmother was going to die sometime soon. But she wasn't expecting her to meet death before she got married. The poor woman had a heart attack.
The only reply she had gotten was a docter coming in the next morning bring the news that her heart didn't want to hear.
He watched her come down the red carpet of the church knowing that even though she had gotten over the death of her grandmother she still had wanted to have her here. He himself wanted the dead woman here. If there was a way I would have had her here. Not for me. But for her. He thought.
She stepped beside him and smiled. She knew that he had been trying to help her as much as he could between saving the town and getting to work on time. Sam tried to speak her thanks before the ceremony started, but her mouth felt dry. "Your welcome." She looked to her side and saw him staring at her. The girl nodded to tell him that she had heard him.
His grin was from ear to ear. He looked back at the priest and she followed his example. They both were glad for one reason. If her grandmother had not died they would have never admitted that they loved each other.
When the wedding had finished a young spirit still hovered above the pews and sighed. She was glad that her granddaughter had found her soul mate. She had indeed come to her wedding. Just like she had promised.
