"YOU'LL SEE KID!" Hakuba screamed towards the ceiling, shacking his fist in rage. "I'LL GET YOU AND HANDCUFF YOU TO ME SO YOU CAN NEVER GET AWAY!"
"Sorry Tantei-san." came a voice from above, "I don't swing that way..."
The detective look at the man who was currently swaying back and forth with utter confusion. "Which way? Side to side? AND WHAT DOES THAT HAVE TO DO WITH ME CATCHING YOU! DON'T TRY TO CHANGE THE SUBJECT!"
The man on the ceiling let out a small chuckle and switch to swaying side to side. "Not side to side Tantei-san, THAT way. It's against my contract." He pulled out his newest jewel and held next to a light that was about two arms length away.
"WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?" the detective was becoming more red in the face than the man hanging upside down. He saw the man above him smile, Or was it frowning? and shake his head in disappointment. The young detective saw a falling white blob and next thing he realize was that he was staring at a white top hat. (How that stayed on, I'm not excatly sure...) He looked down into the KID's eye and monocule and saw a sad smile on his face. The man in white clasped one on Hakuba's hands and gave him a sorry look. "I don't swing YOUR way Tantei-san..."
And with that he walked away.
Hakuba stood their bewilered at what just happened. Then something clicked. "HEY! WHERE DO YOU THINK YOU'RE GOING! COME BACK HERE!" He rose his hand to shake it at the thief but realized that there was something in his hand. He looked down at his hand to see the jewel and a small note.
Dear Tantei-san,
I am sorry to disappoint you but there is a little lady at home that would miss me terribly if I went off with you. Perhaps another time yes?

Hakuba stared at the note for a moment. Then something else clicked. "I DIDN'T MEAN IT LIKE THAT! DAMN YOU KID! COME BACK HERE!" The young detective slumped to the floor. "At least the squad wasn't here...that would happen been most embarrasing..."
