One afternoon at the Seville house, the chipmunks, chipettes, and Dave Seville were getting ready for Halloween.
"Alvin, are you ready for Halloween?" Dave asked.
"Ready's my middle name, Dave!" Alvin replied excitedly.
"Yes Dave!" Brittany said.
"Yes Dave!" Jeanette and Eleanor put in and giggled.
"Ready as I'll ever be!" Simon said, swinging his arm just to prove his point.
"I love Halloween!" Theodore stated.
"Me, too," Dave said.
…
Outside, Ian Hawke was wearing a hawk costume in front of the kids.
"Hi, chicken man," they greeted.
"It's Ian Hawk," Ian Hawke said as gently as he could.
"Are you trick or treating, chicken man?"
"It's Ian Hawk."
"Are you an entertainer, chicken man?"
Ian Hawke was growing furious. "IT'S IAN FREAKING HAWKE!" he exploded.
The children ran away in fright.
Ian let out an angry sigh. "Chicken man," he muttered under his breath.
"Ian, you're not supposed to be scaring kids like that," Dave reprimanded.
"They keep thinking I'm an entertainer and calling me chicken man," Ian Hawke said, folding his arms, "And I don't like it."
"Maybe because they don't know what a hawk is, but they just want to have fun."
Ian Hawke sighed, "Yeah, you're right, Dave. I'll go and apologize." He took off after the kids to apologize. "Hey kids, I'm sorry!"
"You are?" the kids inquired in unison.
"Look, I shouldn't have scared you like that. I had a bad day and I should've known better than to take it out on you kids."
"It's alright, Mr. Hawke," the kids answered and marched from door to door.
Brittany rans over to Ian. "Ian, good job passing it on," she told him.
"Thanks, and I like your costume, Brittany."
"Thank you," Brittany said, placing the palm of her hand to her chest with gratitude.
"Ready to go trick-or-treating?" Dave asked Ian.
"Sure," Ian Hawke replied.
"That's what I've been waiting for," Alvin said eagerly.
…
At nighttime, Dave Seville, Ian Hawke, the chipmunks, and chipettes sauntered up to one door. Ian knocked and a door opened.
"Trick or treat!" they shouted.
Alvin was the first one up to get candy. Simon, Theodore, Ian Hawke, Dave, and the chipettes were next. Then, they continued walking door to door.
"Ian, do you like Halloween?" Theodore asked.
"As a matter of fact, I do, Theodore," Ian answered.
"Do you like candy?" Theodore inquired.
"Yeah, but I wouldn't eat too much of it," Ian replied.
"I got chocolate!" Brittany beamed.
"Me, too, and I got Smarties!" Eleanor piped up.
"I got gum!" Theodore exclaimed.
"Well, Dave. It's been fun trick or treating," Ian said, "Happy Halloween!"
"Happy Halloween, Ian," Dave responded.
"Happy Halloween!" the chipmunks and chipettes called.
"Same to you, boys and girls," Ian said and headed inside his house, while they went inside theirs.
"Well, that was fun," Alvin said.
"Yeah, it was," Brittany agreed.
"We got lots of candy!" Theodore exclaimed happily and laughed sheepishly.
"I love candy!" Elanor declared.
"Dandy candy," said Simon.
"I've had a good time," said Jeanette.
Simon kissed her, causing her to blush.
"And thanks to me, my lady," Simon said in a sultry voice, causing Jeanette to giggle.
"Boys and girls, let's eat some candy!" said Dave.
"Yay!" they exclaimed.
Everyone happily ate candy, but not too much. Afterward, they brushed their teeth, flossed, rinsed, and climbed into their beds.
The End
AN My confession is I dreamt Ian got mad and said the "f" bomb, instead of fudge. I thought, Wow! He must've been in a bad mood. So, I thought I'd tone it down a little.
