The exception that proves the rule

An idea! What could be more dangerous, more powerful than an idea? An idea flourish, an idea grow, an idea spread and never die.
He just needed to implant this idea in the right person, at the right time. That's all he needed to save the world. To save Rose.
But who? When? And where?
How was he supposed to choose? How did he change the world without changing history? Well…without changing it too much. Just enough so Rose wouldn't die.
He shouldn't do this. It was a bad idea; on so many levels. It went against so many rules. But he couldn't lose her. Not like that. She was supposed to leave him one day. Go back to Earth, find a husband and have children. Live a fantastic life. And grow old; with lots and lots of wrinkles.
And probably a cat too.
She would love a cat; with long hair.
As soon as he got her back, he would make sure she got one. They will go to Strathnaverabhu, get lost, eat chips and pick a kitten from one of the sanctuary. So when she decides to leave, he would have fully trained it. And it would be able to protect her. Not that he would let her know that. Of course.
She would probably be mad at him for even think she would leave him. But she will. And when she does, he will make sure she was somewhat protected.
In the meantime, he would just let her think he had gone domestic. It was a small price to pay.
But first thing first; Time had to be rewritten.
To be continued...
