The Doctor zoomed around the console of the TARDIS, flipping switches and turning knobs with the grin of a small child and the energy of one on a sugar high. The TARDIS hummed in content, as if she knew what he was doing. But to The Doctor, she did know. She was always there for him.

"Did you want to go see the lights of Sarcoton? They're brilliant this time of year; looks rather like a rainbow" He chuckled, looking to his side with a toothy grin. Almost immediately, it slipped from his face and he leaned against the console in complete silence, other than the small humming of the time machine. There was no one there. Silly Doctor, how could he forget?

Sighing, he walked to the large kitchen, opening a freezer and removing some fish fingers, as well as some custard from the fridge. He didn't exactly know how to cook fish fingers, as Amy had always done it, or even why they were called "fish fingers". It had always baffled him and he would constantly rant to the red-head about how fish didn't have fingers, unless you were on Thersa, where the planet was completely underwater and the people were fish with fingers and jobs.

"They make a brilliant hamburger over there, but mind you don't ask for a side of fish fingers" He would chuckle, while Amy looked at him with a You're-completely-insane look on her face.

He couldn't rant about that to anyone anymore. Amy had left him to be with the one she loved, which he both hated and understood. Many times he had wanted to save Rory from that moment, but he knew he couldn't, especially after what had happened when Rose had created a paradox to save her dad.

"Oh Doctor," He sighed, closing the door of the fridge and placing the fish custard on the counter, "What will you do?"
