Hermione lay on her back with her eyes staring up to the gray boring ceiling. She had already counted the cracks and the crevasses and where the roof dipped from the poor brick work. She yawned; around here there was nothing to do. Living in the Black household was a change from The Burrow. The Burrow was always alive with children or other family members, welcoming and warm. The house of Black, however, was dull, dark and what with Kreacher walking around, cursing to himself, no one wanted to be there. Hermione had come to the conclusion that the house made her depressed, although being with the Weasley's for Christmas had meant she had a lot more time to spend with Ron, which of course made things more awkward. They were not allowed downstairs due to Order Meetings. There were no televisions for Hermione to watch, well as she thought television was "chewing gum for the eyes". Lying with his head on her stomach was Ron, snoring unattractively and nuzzled into her belly button.
"Ron!" she jiggled her stomach and Ron snorted, obviously waking up from a deep sleep.
"Huh? Err what 'Mione?" Ron's eyes were hazy and his throat croaked.
"Get up for goodness sake! Did you not get any sleep last night?" Hermione removed herself from beneath his head
"Err, well no, actually," Ron's ears went pink at the tips, "I… err…well I couldn't sleep that's all!" he mumbled, "Anyway how can you get sleep on these beds? Hard as wood!" Ron's ears went pink again, and he began to fold some shirts that were on his chair. Hermione walked round the bed and took them from him
"Ron, go and lie down on the bed, I'll do these," Hermione offered with a pause Ron answered.
"Only if you'll lie with me…" Ron stroked her hair and smelt her scent, pulling her closer and there lying close to each other on the bed they fell asleep lying in each others arms.
Breaking the silence, they both heard thudding up the stairs.
"Shit! That'll be Harry!" Hermione quickly got up off the bed
"Hermione…" Ron's hand still held onto hers as if he'd never let go. He wouldn't let go.
"Yes," she looked him straight in the eye. There was an awkward silence… and the door opened. Hermione turned around and flew her arms in the air
"Harry!"
