Chapter One: AwakeningThe trees loomed over the dusty earth, giving the ground only patches of sunlight. Boughs swayed in the weak breeze, causing the shadows to skim over a limp figure, which was laid down near a small pond.
The small figure twitched, reluctant to be awoken by the dizzying, shifting shadows. One of its eyes opened, turquoise blue, blinking from the intake of the small amount of sunlight. The eye widened suddenly as realization hit the figure, and it struggled to its feet.
It was a reddish color, adorned with dark stripes across its back and limbs. A large, fluffy tail was twitched as if its bearer has never seen it before. The same fur that took up much of its tail also covered up its chest and a small part of its head. Large, doggish ears were constantly pawed at as they twitched about the puppy-like creature's antics.
What's going on? the pup thought as it fell back on it's haunches. Me? A Growlithe? But I'm human...
Then again, how'd she know that? She can't remember when she ever was human, now that she thinks on it. I just seem to know things. Not recognize them.
It's not like she could recognize her own name at this point.
She shivered, noticing now that she was a bit calmer that she was soaking wet. Her turquoise eyes glanced down to the pond, which she had laid near earlier. Could she have been in that pond? If so, how did she end up on land?
The Growlithe averted her chain of thought. There has to be another Pokemon around...maybe one will help me, she thought, staggering to her paws. The pup began to sprint in a random direction, tripping over her paws occasionally with the new burden of two extra legs.
Where she was going, she did not know, but she had to admit that it was not the best welcome the world ever gave her.

Short, I know. It will get longer when the next few chapters come.
