The moon wasn't bright enough, Alviss thought. The darkness would keep their secret safe for the time being. In the forest, a usual place where he'd meet Phantom, the Cross guard asked in a soft monotone. "Can you learn to love?" His voice quivered and Phantom answered, smiling sweetly. "No."

Despite the blank facade dominated Alviss' face, Phantom knew better that his answer had hurt his lover. There was nothing he could do about it. This is what he was and he was grateful enough that Alviss never ushered him to change - never rushed him to be a...better person.

He was a devil in human form. An undead wearing the mask of a perfect human. What he and his young lover had, was their dirty little secret - because in the end, he would eventually die in Alviss' hand.

That's what he could ever wish for.

The leader of the knights hoisted Alviss to his laps, his strong arms wrapped protectively around Alviss' lithe waist as he chanted sweet endearments into the other's ears. The youth's head plopped down on Phantom's shoulder.

And then slowly, the Knight let out a half-heartedly chuckle. The blunette turned around to stare at his dead lover intently, his brows knitted together in puzzlement.

"What is it?"

"Look what you have turned me into, Alviss." the immortal man brushed the blue locks from Alviss' forehead. "No hatred when I'm with you. It feels as if...this if good enough. But such thing is simply...wrong."

Alviss didn't utter a word. He just sat there, in Phantom's embrace, reminiscing the past of when his own hatred to Phantom was larger more than any of his emotions.

He would kill Phantom. Yes, he would be the one to free him from the eternal curse. All he needed was determination. But for the moment, it was okay to be here. Just for a few more minutes.

"Phantom, what-" Alviss tried to steer away when he felt cold fingers prodding into his upper garment. Phantom's hand moved slickly along the warm skin, fingers mapping each sensitive spot he could reach. And quietly, Alviss whimpered under the touch. It was a foreign feeling. Nevertheless, it sparked the desire and heat flowing inside him.

"Calm down." The Knight leaned forward and spared a chaste kiss on the crown of his lover's head. "I'll be gentle."

The teen's verdict clouded with hesitation but it only took a short, searing kiss on his plump lips to make him wobble in Phantom's grasp.

So Alviss let his enemy lay him on the earth floor with such gentleness - he let Phantom touch, kiss, nip and caress him - he let the Knight remove his garments and mark him as his - he let the cold creature make love to him.

Every pain and pleasure forced Alviss to arch on his back, his moans and whimpers cut down the silence of the forest. Soon, their screams echoed in the dark and vision of white swarmed their eyes.

Gasps ragged the human's chest as he watched the other slumped down next to him, taking Alviss in his much larger body.

"Alviss..." Phantom murmured. He took Alviss' limped hand in his, giving it a small peck. "I want to die by these soft hands."

Alviss went quiet. He didn't answer.

But his eyes steeled with determination. The he closed them and...smiled.

"I know."

Days after that, Alviss watched his lover turned to silvery dust in his arms, a smile tugged on the corner of Phantom's lips as he whispered hush words under his breath.

'Thank you...'
