Disclaimer: I do not own anything of The Covenant because if I did you'd probably never see any of the men who were once a part of this cast, and I wouldn't be writing this story. I only own Amaris Parry and this storyline. Enjoy the new rendition of this chapter! PS: I've deleted the Author's Note from the story.

Chapter 1: The Reunion

There it stood in all it's glory of the night. The neon lights lit the outside of the building up, enticing all of it's visitors to stop by for a good time. This would be the first time she ever stepped foot in the bar her brother always spoke highly about. Nicky's was the place to go according to Pogue Parry, and that's where he told Amaris the Sons of Ipswich would be tonight. Not a soul knew she was back in town, but she just played it off as a normal conversation with Pogue earlier that day. Contrary to what her brother thought, she was already on her way to Ipswich while she spoke to him. Adjusting the grey leather jacket she adorned, Amaris finally worked up enough courage to walk in the busy bar. The music was as loud as you'd expect it to be, and a film of smoke filled the air. As she looked around while making her way to the bar, the brunette was able to spot Reid and Tyler playing a game of pool with a couple of other guys she didn't recognize. Amaris looked through the crowds trying to spot Pogue, but even with as tall as her brother was, she couldn't seem to find the mess of dirty blond hair above the crowd. Then an arm came slinking around her waist making her jump in surprise. Looking to her side, there was a man with dark curly hair, a long face, he was pretty handsome at first glance, but did he just have the essence of a stereotypical jock oozing from his pores.

" Can I help you?" the younger Parry asked calmly. He flashed her his most charming of smiles, and maybe for most girls that would disarm them quickly, but Amaris was knew that his endgame was to get her into his bed tonight. The mystery man seemed like the type that didn't get turned down often.

"A dance with you would make my night a lot better," his voice dripping with confidence.

"As nice as a dance might be," Amaris grabbed his hand, and dropped it from around her waist, "I have more important matters to attend to. If you'll excuse me," she then started to walk away, but the man called out to her.

"Hey come on it's just one dance," he grabbed her again by the waist and started trying to grind with her. She gently pushed him off her trying to get the hint across to him, but he continued his ministrations. Amaris could smell the alcohol on his breath guessing he and whomever he was with had a pre-party.

"Leave her alone, Aaron." A deep voice said from behind her. She was now able to the name with the face of Aaron Abbott. He had most certainly not looked the same from when she was last in Ipswich, and she had to say the years did him well.

"What are you going to do about it, Danvers?" 'Danvers? Wait Caleb?' Amaris thought turning around to meet those chocolate, brown eyes that had been all too familiar to her.

"Whatever man, she's not even worth it," Aaron walked off leaving Caleb and Amaris alone to stare one another.

"Ama?" Caleb asked reaching out so he could pull her into his arms. She was once the closest friend he had aside from Pogue, but the Parry's were always the closest of the Ipswich families, and it still has not changed. The oldest of the Sons was just so shocked to see her that he couldn't even extend his arms out to be able to feel her once again, it was almost as if he was expecting her to be a ghost.

"Caleb, come on," he turned around meeting the bright eyes his girlfriend Sarah, and he just didn't know what to do at the moment.

"Amaris!" Pogue came running to his sister embracing her in a long hug. The siblings had never been so relieved to see one another. The fact that they were twins made this daunting matter even more of a reason for Amaris to be back with her brother and their friends. She needed him more than ever. They pulled away from one another to finally speak in person after so many years.

"I never thought you'd come back for this. You never said anything to me or Mom."

"I would never abandon you on our 18th birthday. Going through this so far away from you had me pretty worried to be honest," she smiled brightly at her older twin then looked around Nicky's, "Plus I've missed Ipswich for too long."Amaris saw something behind Pogue, and when she looked clearly, Reid and Tyler were making their way over to the Parry siblings.

"Amy you're back!" They both said pushing Pogue out of the way wrapping her up in both their arms.

"Guys I've missed you, too, but get off me. Oxygen is a great thing," Amaris then grabbed ahold of both of them in each arm, "I've missed you all so much, and now you're all grown."

"Hey watch it, Parry, you're still older than the both of us," Tyler playfully hit Amaris on the shoulder grinning like a mad man.

"So who are you?" the long haired blond from earlier asked crossing her arms over her chest, interrupting the reunion between the children of Ipswich.

"Amaris Parry. I'm Pogue's sister, " Amaris replied forcing a smile to surface. The young witch was trying to get a read on the blond she stared at, but all that was seen was the disdain on the other female's face.

"Why haven't I heard about her before?" she turned to Caleb, and all he could out was, "Sara," before she continued, "I thought you told me everything there was to know about the original Ipwich families, and all their offspring," Pogue found it necessary to defer the conversation from Caleb.

"He's not lying to you Sarah," the green eyed Son ran a hand through his hair and looked back to the girl who was questioning them about his own sister, "Amaris is my twin, she stayed here until she was thirteen, but then my mom had to send her to some," Pogue paused trying to find his sister, and when he got her nod he continued, "family we have down South."

They all looked to Sarah, who looked bored from the story. The blond didn't like the fact that there was someone coming in stomping her way into the circle she fought to stay in. The more Sarah looked between Pogue and Amaris she could start pointing out similarities between the two. The same green eyes stared back at her, and their facial features were practically the same, Amaris' being more feminine. What Sarah didn't like about the newly discovered Daughter of Ipswich was the way Caleb kept glancing at her every moment he could. Those looks should be only for his girlfriend, but that is not the case at the moment.

"Cute," she remarked unimpressed turning to her boyfriend she asked, "You ready to go, Caleb?"

"Not really," Sarah gave him a look, and he sighed, "Look I haven't seen Amaris in five years. She's one of my best friends. It would just be nice to catch up."

"You have plenty of time to catch up Caleb. I'm sure she'd rather just go home with her brother, and spend time with her family," the tension was so high between the six teenagers. Caleb looked to Amaris, and all she did was nod not knowing what else to do. She couldn't keep Caleb away from his unwelcoming girlfriend. Being away for five years took that right away from her. The eldest Son let out an exasperated sigh then looked to Sarah.

"Fine let's go," taking her hand in his, they walked away from the group and out of Nicky's.

"So now he's got an over controlling, conniving, bitch as a girlfriend? I thought Cae had better senses than that?"

"They're at that point in their relationship where everything is starting to get rocky before they start getting better again. You just came back right in the middle of their hard ship," Pogue explained trying to help diffuse the situation.

"I'll give her chance if that's what you're worried about," she answered sitting in the closest chair, "I can't just waltz back into everyone's lives and expect everyone to just welcome me with open arms," the three remaining boys all sat at the table with her, just glad that Amaris had finally come home. It was only a matter of time before everyone of them ascend, and they would all need each other to say grounded, "Five years is plenty of time for everything to change, and it has. I have to accustom myself to the new sway of everything around here."

"I'm sure it'll take you no time, Amy," Tyler reassured her bringing her in for side hug. The brunette couldn't help but laugh at the smiles on all their faces. It was so amazing to be back home, to be with her family.

Amaris was finally making her way into the dorms at one o'clock in the morning. She just couldn't help herself even with school starting in the next few hours. Pogue left Tyler and Reid with Amaris, so he could spend some time with Kate that night, and the three remaining Ipswich children played many rounds of pool, earning a few bucks for themselves while playing catch up. Listening to everything Reid and Tyler were telling her made her regret not coming home sooner, but she didn't have a choice in that matter. They wouldn't allow her to leave until she was eighteen. The twins' mother wanted to keep her away being the first and only female of any of the five bloodlines to show powers. It had frightened their mother dearly, and wanted to take all precaution to keep her daughter as safe as she could.

The younger Parry walked quickly through the building wanting to get to her room as quickly as she possibly could. The need to sleep was taking over, and the fact that this place looked more out of haunted movie than she cared to think about had her more on edge. The few drinks she was able to get from the bartender didn't help with the paranoia either. Living in New Orleans, she learned about many new beings than she ever thought possible. The Book of Damnation listed an abundance of creatures, but there were numerous undiscovered when the book was written. Her thoughts were so wrapped up on getting to her room that she didn't notice the figure heading her way, and eventually the two collided. She slightly stumbled and when she looked up, the other person was already speaking.

"Sorry I didn't mean to run into you I," came a deep, familiar voice, "Ama?" She looked up seeing Caleb looking at her with a furrow in his brow. Giving him the best smile she could muster, she started speaking.

"Hey, Cae. Going home?"

"Yeah I just left from Sarah's and Kate's room," he answered as Amaris started walking again, "Did you just get back from Nicky's?"

"Pogue left early, which I'm sure you knew, but Reid, Tyler and I got here not too long ago," looking over at Caleb she noticed him deep in thought, "Is everything alright?" A deep breath escaped his plump lips, and he halted his steps, Amaris quickly stopping when she noticed.

"Everything has just been," there was a pause as he searched for the correct words, "confusing. After the events with Chase, ascending, and never being able to find him, Sarah acting like a completely different person, and then you coming back, my head is just in a haze lately."

"A lot has happened to you in just a short span of time of your ascension, Caleb," she placed a comforting hand on his shoulder with a genuine smile spreading across her lips, "It will all start making sense soon, and things with Sarah will start leveling out. You just have to give it time. If what she said was true about you telling her all about our past," Amaris checked for anyone lingering in the hallways because there was no possible way she could let anything about them slip to anyone that wasn't in their family or close friends, "then she has a lot on her plate, too, and you just need to give her time to process all of this craziness."

Caleb couldn't help but let out a light chuckle, but his childhood friend was correct. There was no way he could expect Sarah to instantly accept his life, even though she showed signs at first of understanding, but that was all before Chase held her hostage, and tried to make Caleb will him his powers. His smile was infectious though, and Amaris let out a small life enjoying this time she had with Caleb without Sarah sneering at her the entire time. Looking down at her phone, and seeing that it was now later than she expected, Amaris bit her lip trying to decide if she wanted to let Caleb leave, or just keep talking to him, but she came to the conclusion that sleep would be much needed soon.

"Well, I'll see you at school in the morning?"

"I'm sure at some point our paths will cross," with Caleb's answer, Amaris placed a feathery kiss against his cheek and started to walk away.

"Amaris," He called after her wanting more to come out, but he couldn't seem to find the words as she turned to look at him with her piercing, green eyes, "I…I'm glad you're back."

"Me, too, Cae. Goodnight," Amaris smiled then walked away to her room.

Caleb turned away, and started making his way to the entrance of the school dormitories once again. He could not get Amaris off his mind though, and he felt guilty, since he should be thinking about Sarah completely, but the only Daughter of Ipswich always had a way of captivating him ever since they were young. The fact that he was utterly blindsided by her appearance did not help his growing pile of difficulties, and there was only person to call for that matter. Once Caleb got in his Mustang, and started driving away the person on the other line finally answered.

"Hello?"

"Why didn't you tell me she was coming back?" Caleb almost growled to his friend.

"I didn't know," he paused gathering his wits as he woken from a dead sleep, "If I would've known, you know you would be the first person to know."

"I'm sorry man, her return was entirely unexpected, and it just threw me off. Are you sure her being back is safe? With Chase still on the loose, and both of your ascensions approaching, there's no telling when he'll be back," Caleb expressed just as he was pulling into the driveway of his home.

"I would rather her be with us, than being alone where she would be more vulnerable. If he wanted to, he could have found her in Louisiana," the older Son knew Pogue was right especially since he had already ascended. Caleb would be able to protect them if he had to.

"No, you're right, Pogue. There's no way she would be able to defend herself from Chase if she was alone," Unlocking the door, he heard a loud crash from downstairs the manor hoping it wasn't his mother, "Hey man I have to go. I'll see you tomorrow."

"See ya later, Caleb." They both hung up, and the dark haired teenager made his way quickly to the source of the noise. He was correct in his assumption, because there Evelyn Danvers laid on the floor, glass right next to her. A frustrated grunt came from Caleb, but he gently picked his mother up, and carried her to her room. After she was finally resting, he went to his room lying down in his bed with many thoughts circulating around in his head. Caleb was finally able to fall asleep as he finally picked one of those thoughts to keep focus on while he rested.

Amaris sat on her bed with a photo album on her lap, and many others skewed across her bed. Trips down memory helped ease her thoughts most times, and she desperately needed something to distract her from all of the events that took place earlier. She came across a recent picture of Pogue and Kate he sent to her, and they looked absolutely happy with one another. The smiles on both of their faces screamed their love for the other. This picture always made her happy because her brother was able to find a woman who could accept all his flaws, but also sad since she did not have anyone to share her life experiences.

'I wish I had that,' She thought flipping the page to a picture of her and Caleb together at their first middle school dance. They were both dressed to the nines, and they stood facing each other, her hand on his shoulders, and his resting on her waist just starting at the camera with huge smiles on their faces. So young and naive then, but she would not trade that night for any other. It was one of her most treasured memories. Amaris smiled as she wished she could go back and time, and keep her from every developing her powers. If she never had them, she would have never left Ipswich in the first place. As she thought of what her life would have been like without powers, Amaris put her things finally lying down in her bed ready for the rest she had wanted all day, but an uneasy feeling came over her as if she was being watched in the night.

Thank you all for reading. I am thinking I want to take Amaris' original relationship with Caleb in completely different path. It's just something I'm toying around with until I finally make that decision. Seeing as how I already have nine chapter written, but need to edited, I should have each chapter posted weekly. That way I am not rushing myself, and can get the edits done sooner, so I can start working on the new chapters that need to be drafted, so fingers crossed that method works out. I hope this new and improved first chapter meets all of you lovely readers' needs. If you have any questions or concerns please PM me, or leave a review. I do encourage constructive criticism, but please if you're review is utterly negative, keep it to yourself. Until next time my lovlies.
