Meredith was standing at the nurse's station, finalizing some charts when the back of her neck tingled, and she knew that Derek was walking towards her. She paused, knowing it would be wise to leave, since for some reason unbeknownst to her he was angry at her. George and Izzy were talking around the corner of the desk, and she could hear Dr. Bailey talking to someone. Derek stepped up to the desk, and handed a file over to one of the nurses. "This is for my wife's case."

As he turned to walk away, Meredith was overcome with word vomit. "I never should have told you about George."

He faced her and shrugged, "No, its fine. I'm glad I know. About him, and the vet. You really get around."

The world went silent. "What did you just say to me?"

"It's unforgivable."

"I don't remember ever asking you to forgive me."

"So was the knitting a phase? Who's next? Alex? 'Cause I hear he likes to sleep around. You two have that in common." Gasps of shock were heard in the background.

Furious, Meredith walked up to him, and poked him in the chest. "You don't get to call me a whore. When I met you, I thought I had found the person that I was going to spend the rest of my life with. I was done. So all the boys, and all the bars, and all the obvious daddy issues—who cared? Because I was done." She paused to take a shuddering breath. "You left me. You chose Addison. I'm all glued back together now. I make no apologies for how I chose to repair what you broke. You don't get to call me a whore."

"This thing with us is finished, it's over."

"It's been over since you told me that you were choosing her. I've been trying so hard to move on from you but you won't let me!" A tear slid down her face. "I never wanted to be one of those people who loves someone that they know doesn't love them back." A sob slipped out. "And I hate you for making me one."

"Mere-." He began, looking as if he wanted to move towards her.

"NO." She said, not quite yelling, but loud enough for the people who weren't listening to turn to them. "It's my turn to talk. You should have told me you were married."

"I-."

"You should have told me that you were married. You should have told me that you were going to break my heart."

"I never wanted to break you."

Meredith walked over to the chart that she had been working on, signed it, and slid it to a nurse. She was putting her ink pen in her pocket when she turned to him. "I'm to blame, because I gave you that power over me. I gave you everything that you would need to break me. But no more. I will not allow you to hurt me anymore." She straightened her back, spun on her heel, and walked away from him.

So, what did you think?
