Personality disappearance
chapter 1
Hiccup and toothless were in a clearing when a changewing appeared.
"A Changewing what's it doing here?" Hiccup asked as he approached it.
The changewings eyes began to spin and hiccup gasped and looked away before turning back to face the changewing his eye's glowing.
Toothless roared and ran towards the changewing only to also have his eyes begin to glow.
Both of them collapse.
(hour later)
"Hiccup, hey Hiccup wake up!"
I groaned. "Ugh what?"
"Are you okay?" Astrid asked.
"I- I think so." I said
Suddenly memories fill my head. I look at myself, I'm human what happened to my beautiful wings! "Astrid..."
"Yeah?"
"I'm not Hiccup, it's Toothless." I said.
She laughed.
"What's so funny!?" I snapped.
"You're not Toothless you're Hiccup." She said.
"No Astrid I'm not!" I said.
"Okay prove it." She said crossing her arms.
I think for a moment. How do I prove I'm a dragon? dame...that's difficult. "You'll just have to go with me on this I don't really remember much about how I could prove to you that I'm Toothless except that I've seen you and Hiccup kissing in the wood alone for a long time now." I said under my breath so the others don't hear me.
She blushes before she rubs her temples. "Okay so you are Toothless, Hiccup figured that you'd follow." She said.
"Know that you believe me where's my body?" I asked.
She helps me up and guides me over to sit beside my body. "Hiccup bud wake up." I said.
He groans and once he gets the first sight of me he's off and from what i can tell going off on one of his panic attacks. "Hiccup calm down we'll figure this out, wait Hiccup watch out- winces- for your tail." I say looking at my best friend's tangled body. He unwraps the tail that had tangled around he's legs. He gave me a sad confused look. I sighed and shook my head. "I don't know what happened to us, the last thing I remember is that changewing the nothing else." I said.
Hiccup groans and paws the ground. I frown.
"Do you think you can't both work through this and get back to the village to see Gothi?" Astrid asked.
I turned to hiccup. "I think so what do you think?" I asked.
He thought about it for a moment before nodding. "Okay then." I said as I climbed aboard my bodies back. "This is so weird, normally I'm the one doing the flying not the controlling, I guess I'll have to tap into the small bit of Hiccup's mind still in here." I said which earned me a slap from Hiccup's tail, my tail. I wasn't going to get used to this was I.
I closed my eyes and mentally focused on Hiccup's mind to take over controlling the tail fin. I opened my eyes and we fly up into the sky.
once we got to gothi's house with an exception of Hiccup crash landing.
I chuckled. "Not bad for your first time hatchling." I said.
He growled.
"Hey that was your first flight and you did really well up until the landing, that's pretty good for a human in a dragon's body. " I said.
He considered this and flicked his ear.
Now I really wished I could talk." I said.
"Well maybe you can!" Fishlegs blunted out.
We all turned to face him with confused looks. He whimpered slightly.
"W-Well think about it Toothless, You're a dragon inside a human body shouldn't you be able to understand the language?" He asked.
I nodded. "I should, but for some reason I can't."
"Maybe because he hasn't said anything. Tuffnut said.
"I can't believe I'm going to say this but maybe Tuffnut's right maybe Hiccup has to try aurally specking Norse." I said.
I turned back to hiccup.
"Well I thought I was specking Norse but clearly i wasn't." Hiccup said.
My moth fell open. "Hey Hiccup." I said.
"What?" He asked.
"I can understand you." I said with a smile.
He stood there dumbfounded. "Oh wow that's help full I guess."
I nodded. "know let's get some answers." I said.
I remember Gothi checking me when I was sick because of that flower, though it was much stranger as a human because she was doing some weird things going back and forth between Hiccup and I.
"Well what exactly happened to us?" I asked the old woman.
She begun to draw hyrogifs which Fishlegs translated.
"She says that that changewing that you talked about used it's hypnosis on both you and Hiccup and caused you both to switch bodies. The only thing she can't figure out is why it did this." Fishlegs explained.
I sighed. "C-can it be undone?"
she writes again.
"she says that it's unknown."
-later-
"are you sure about this Toothless?" Astrid asked me.
"We have to Astrid it's worth a try, remember your only to interfere if things go wrong." I said.
"I know just, be careful." She said.
"I know we will." I say before we descend and land on changewing island.
"Remember what you have to do Hiccup?" I asked.
He nodded. "yeah I just hope this goes well."
"You and I both." I said.
"So night fury your back for more." Hissed a changewing.
"Wait." Hissed another.
"He's different, tell us night fury what is it that you've brought a human with you for exactly." Purred a changewing that approached and sniffed Hiccup.
"A changewing used hypnosis on us and we've swiped bodies." Hiccup said.
"Hahaha, so the oh so powerful night fury is stuck in that pathetic form Hahaha bow down human because your power belongs to another!" The changewing said.
"You dare say that to me I may not have any powers but I'm still a night fury and you'd had better watch your tongue!" I snapped.
Suddenly I fall to my knees.
"I'd advise you do as your told Toothless." Hiccup snarled.
I couldn't help but wince. Hiccup never got cross with me so why start know?
"Hehehe, tell me night fury how does it feel to wield such great powers?" The changewings know circled us.
"I-it feels good I guess?" Hiccup said.
"Give it a try Night fury, show us your powers!" They all said at once.
Hiccup closed his eyes and charged a plasma blast before fireing a strong blast that sent all of us tumbling backwards.
I saw a look in Hiccup's eye the look of amazement and shock.
"know find me with your senses!" the changewing purred as it disappeared.
again hiccup closed his eyes and i watched his ears flicker till he locks onto the changewing and hit's it back.
"Well Night fury do you really want to give up such exhilarating powers?" The changewing asked.
I looked at Hiccup. his lips turned up into an insane smile. I gasped. T-that look, I couldn't move.
-past memory-
I trembled as my father stared muralisly down at me.
"P-Please papa I-I didn't mean it please don't punish me again." I wailed.
"You are a worthless excuse for a night fury!" He said before throwing me into the wall of the den.
"GAH!" I screamed.
my whole body trembled, I looked up at him his eye's cold with no expression of love only a sickening hatred.
He bit into my neck and threw me again.
-end of memory-
"I-I like my powers." Hiccup said.
I backed away from him. "Hiccup please, don't do this don't choose power over friendship." I said.
"Friendship? Hahaha I have no friends all i need is power!" Hiccup said before attempting to fire a plasma blast at me.
"What are you doing!?" I screamed.
"In order to keep my powers, you must die!" Hiccup snarled lunging at me.
"AH! ASTRID!" I screamed out as hiccup pushed me into the ground with his weight.
moments later I find myself fighting Hiccup in the air. we crash land on dragon island and Hiccup goes to try to attack me again only to be thrown into a tree and get knocked out.
"Your hurt." Astrid said walking over to me.
"I'll be fine, I-it's just a scratch." I said wincing.
"here sit down I'll fix that up for you." Astrid said as she tended to my wound.
All i could do was stare at hiccup's motionless body. He'd been under the control of the changewings and became power hungry the Hiccup i know and love would never choose power over friendship. I bit my lower lip till i taste blood as the alcohol is applied to my wound.
"Oh man up Toothless you said it yourself it's just a scratch." Astrid said.
"Hey alcohol hurts like Hel okay!" I looked at her.
"Y-you knew that when you're a dragon?" She asked.
"no, it's one of Hiccup's thoughts. I said.
thing were about to get a whole lot interesting.
