She watched in appreciation of the view as her gallant Knight rode his steed to her, the early morning sun sparkling on his silver armor. He stopped just before her, swung down from his mount, and bowed low before approaching her throne. He lifted his visor, and her heartbeat quickened as her hero smiled at her. Boldly, he took her hand in his as he spoke, "Milady, forgive my rashness, but I come to you to ask for a simple favor, just a small token of yon affection before I ride into battle today against Sir Brian to claim your hand forever more and defeat the surly knave who would threaten to take you from all you know and cherish . . . " His brown eyes shimmered up into hers as he admitted in a low and husky whisper, " . . . from me."
"Of course, my brave Knight," Chloe answered and removed a silken scarf from her long, blonde hair. Her heartbeat rushed into her ears as she gave him her scarf. She leaned over the balcony and kissed her love's cheek. "Until we meet again when my hand is free."
"It shall not be long," Alek vowed, tying her scarf around his lance. True to his word, it did not take him long at all to defeat the dark Knight, Sir Brian. He rode back to her side immediately after his triumphant victory and whisked her into his arms. "I told you it would not take long," he purred.
"So you did," she answered, beaming.
"I shall always ride to victory, milady love, and best your foes for as long as I possess the grrreatest trrreasure, that of yourrr love," he purred.
"I know," Chloe whispered aloud, turning over, snuggling her pillow, smiling as she dreamed, and purring contentedly. Her Alek would always win.
