Novel

When Marian and Fenris meet for the first time, it's like a scene from one of those romance novels that Carver reads but will never, ever admit to reading because he's, you know, a guy.

He watches Marian as the elf walks down the steps, as he turns around, as he crushes his hunter's heart. A slow smile spreads across her face, everything sort of lighting up with an odd glow, and Carver wonders if she even knows that Varric and him are watching her. He doubts it.

And then, of course, she has to speak.

"Hey, handsome," she says, looking the elf over, "what do you say I take you back to my place and we see what else you can do with that hand?"

Sometimes, Carver has to love his sister. Because otherwise, he'd die of shame.
